Description

This book will have you emotional it expresses feelings that lay dormmate to protect other people's feeling. You will find it hard to put down. It's like a Tyler Perry movie.
We all go through things in life that will forever affect us one way or another. We just do not think about how they affect others. We blame the ones we love for what we have endured and ultimately end up doing the same things to the people we love. This book is about being exposed to and abuse as a child, blaming the ones we love for what we have endured, and ultimately allowing or doing the same things to the people we love. As I relive the pain all over with in the pages of this book, I now realize it took an entire lifetime to understand the reasons why my loved ones did what they did. A Lifetime to realize it was not done maliciously. It was just The Family's Cycle of Life. One that needed to be broken. We all have one. We do what we have been taught even when we don't want to. We look back and if we are fortunate, we can adjust our lives accordingly and be able to stay afloat without drowning. This is a story about my family cycle of Life.

About the Author
The writer grew up in an era that strongly believed that what goes on in the home stays in the home. It was believed that a reputation is more important than a person’s physical, emotional, and mental health. She has managed to raise three healthy children, stay married for over 25 years, obtain a BS degree, and stay mentally sane after being amist abuse most of her life. This book reflects a change in those views. She is the voice that speaks out to encourage all readers to break the cycle of abuse and the acceptance of mistreatment.

ONE
The Root
Pam came from a large, prominent, well-known family. She was always soft spoken and never confrontational. Bill was a good ole country boy. He came from a family of diligent teachers and farmers. He loved his cars, dogs, and hunting. He did not play games with people. People might call him a mean man, but it was just his personality. Bill was older than Pam. She was eighteen years old when they were married. He was her first and would be her last. They have now been married for fifty-four years. It was just Cindy the first seven years, and then came Lily. Four years after that, baby sister Monet was born. Three girls! They were country girls who climbed trees, made mud pies, rode bikes, and had pets. Lily was always the brave and outspoken one. She was pretty and could run fast. She would beat the person she was running against in the relay race. She was something else. Monet got what she wanted. She did not think so, but she did. Bill worked as a supervisor. Pam worked part-time as a lab technician, and she drove the school bus. They were not rich. It is funny how a child can look at a table with fried potatoes, a big bowl of beans, and homemade biscuits and think they are rich. Each year Bill would coon hunt, sell the hides, and get brand new bikes. Back then, Cindy thought his going into the deep, darkest night to kill coons was a big sacrifice, but she realized as she got older that he loved to hunt. Their household was religious. Correction—Pam was religious. She had dedicated herself to God at an early age. She was very submissive and never drank alcohol, smoked, or did any drugs. There was nobody like Mrs. Pam. I do not know how she did it. If you had never met her, you may have thought she was putting on airs. She remained the same person her whole life.
They attended spiritual services twice a week. Throughout a given year, they always had wrapped presents on their beds, had lots to eat, and always had the necessities. Cindy had a canopy bed. She would lie down, look up, and stare at it. There was something about a canopy bed that made you feel like a queen. They had friends, mostly spiritual family. The friends were of all nationalities. Cindy was super nice and kept to herself. Before her siblings were born it was just Cindy and her mom. She remembered her mom studying the Bible with her at an early age. They would go into the woods so they could hear nature. Little did she know they were hiding it from Bill. Cindy’s mom said that one day she was studying with Cindy and talking about how wonderfully God made them. They were talking about facial features. Pam said, “Look at my face. What do you see?” Cindy was supposed to say eyes , nose , and so forth, but she responded, “Bumps.” A child will tell it like it is, won’t they? They strictly adhered to Bible standards and principles. This meant not being prejudiced in any way, not having sex before marriage, not committing fornication or adultery, refraining from violence, and the list goes on and on. When Pam became spiritually minded, Bill hated it. He did not like the fact that something other than himself became first in her life. He wanted her to stop attending services, and she refused. God changed her, and she put God first above all others. Even though he would admit their religion made them better people, he would threaten that if Pam did not stop going, he would leave or do something to her. Bill was already a heavy drinker, but he started to drink even more. Trivial things became less tolerated. He was never satisfied, and the nicer Pam became, the more he hated it.
