Staff from L'Oréal are today rolling up their sleeves and heading out into the

community as part of their annual 'Citizen Week'.

Employees from the world's largest global cosmetics company, based in

Hammersmith,

West London

, are getting hands-on at a number of local

organisations as part of the scheme, in which workers take a day off work to

support good causes.

This has includes setting up a call centre and manning the phones at women's

cancer charity, revamping a primary school garden, helping former prisoners

find accommodation and employment, and giving students interview practice at

a local college.

A L'Oréal spokesperson said: "L'Oréal has a talented team of employees and it

is great that they have the opportunity to share their knowledge and expertise

with the wider community through Citizen Week.

"Many of our employees go on to develop long-standing relationships with the

good causes they help as part of this initiative. It is of immense value to the

business and the community alike and we are proud to run such a fantastic

scheme."

Last year the L'Oréal UK and

Ireland

helped over 330 organisations and raised

more than £1.4million, making the branch the biggest contributor to good

causes in

Europe

L'Oréal hopes to beat 2011's success and will be donating over 1200 hours to

local projects in the community as part of 2012's Citizen Week.
