Learning the concept of words used to describe color will help you to indicate your color preference more readily, so some important terminology or jargon to make note of when describing color is hue, value and chroma. Hue identifies, and it is another name for, color. For instance a blue-patterned carpet carries a blue hue. Value describes the darkness or lightness of any color. One light in value has become diluted with white. One example is, pink can be a tint of red which has a light value, as a result of white put into it. A dark value color is even closer black for the scale, because it's had black put into it. For example burgundy is really a shade of red with dark value. Chroma refers to the power of one, how bright or dull it is actually. Scarlet and brick red are similar in value, however their intensity differs. Brick red is duller as it possesses a lower chroma than scarlet. Scarlet includes a higher chroma so is a lot more brilliant. Colors with low chroma have an overabundance of of other colors put into them; individuals with high chroma are definitely more pure.
