Le présent rapport entend fournir une réflexion sur les progrès, les réalisations et les obstacles en termes d'intégration des préoccupations environnementales dans la politique agricole de l'Union européenne, et ce en fonction des indicateurs développés dans le cadre de l'opération IRENA. Il aborde également les entraves à la réussite de la mise en oeuvre de la politique au niveau des Etats membres et les défis à relever à l'avenir.
