Mixed martial arts is an exciting combination of several martial arts techniques where the body is the only weapon. If you have good skills in lots of fighting styles, you can be deadly in mixed martial arts. You will always be one step in front of your opponent due to your wide variety of moves.  Thai kickboxing, or also called muay thai, is a martial art that mostly has kicking and punching techniques. It's actually a martial art style, that is a standing sport, where two rivals fight until one of them hits the ground. Kickboxing is a full contact sport that was introduced in the 1960s. Boxing has been in existence since 688 B.C. and it's a sport where you are only allowed to utilize your hands, and you try to knock out your challenger. If you're in a tight space, boxing can be useful but if your opponent is skilled in other martial arts then you'll be in trouble.    Judo is one more kind of mixed martial arts that is close quarter. It's not a martial art that has a lot of punching and kicking but primarily grabbing and throwing your enemy to the ground. If you have difficulty throwing your opponent, you could grapple your opponent to immobilize them. Judo and wrestling have lots in common considering that both require you to hold, lock, clinch or leverage your opponent to secure a win in the match. Adversaries are forced into submission in jujitsu by using choke holds and locks, as it is focused on grappling and ground fighting. These are not the only martial arts styles, and to learn any of them, you will have to find a trainer at a gym that can teach you. Usually no sparring is involved in beginning classes. So that you can do well, you must be in a class with other students to practice with.  To get your money's worth you must find the appropriate gym, where there are reputable teachers. If you fail to do your research, you may find that you are not getting any value out of it. Typically the first lesson is free of charge, so you can check out more than one prior to making a decision on which one to attend. When you master any martial art, you will become physically fit and you will be able to guard yourself.
