Shape armholes: Cast off 5 sts from the beginning of the next 2 rows. 76 (80, 84, 88, 92, 96)
sts. Decrease 1 st at each end of every right side row 8 times. 60 (64, 68, 72, 76, 80) sts.
Work without further shaping until piece measures 7 (7.25”, 7.5”, 7.75”, 8”, 8.25”) from the
beginning of the armhole shaping. Cast off 9 (10, 10, 11, 11, 12) from beginning of the next
two rows. Work across 9 (10, 11, 11, 12, 13), K2tog. Place remaining 31 (32, 35, 37, 40, 41)
on a holder. Turn. P2tog P8, (9, 10, 10, 11, 12). Cast off remaining 9 (10, 11, 11, 12, 13) sts.
Keep centre 20 (20, 22, 24, 26, 26) sts on the holder. Slip the remaining 11 (12, 13, 13, 14,
15) sts to a needle. With wrong side facing, join in more yarn and P9 (10, 11, 11, 12, 13),
P2tog. Turn. K2tog, K8 (9, 10, 10, 11, 12) sts. Cast off remaining 9 (10, 11, 11, 12, 13) sts.
Pocket Linings:
Make two alike
With 4.5mm (US 7) needles and MC, cast on 26 sts. Work for 4.5” in stocking st. Work in
pattern as follows:
Row 1: *K2 in MC, P2 in Colour B* Repeat to last 2 sts. K2 in MC
Row 2: *P2 in MC, K2 in Colour B* Repeat to last 2 sts. P2 in MC
Row 3: *K2 in Colour A, P2 in MC* Repeat to last 2 sts. K2 in Colour A

Place Pocket Lining:
Following Row 7 of pattern for back, work across 12 (16, 16, 20, 20, 24) sts. Cast off next 26
sts. With right side facing, slip the 26 sts of the pocket lining onto the right needle and work
across remaining 4 sts in pattern. Continue in pattern from Row 8 for back. Continue in MC
and stocking stitch as given for back until armhole shaping, ending with a right side row.
Shape armhole: Cast off 5 sts from beginning of next wrong side row. 37 (41, 41, 45, 45,
49) sts. Decrease 1 st at each armhole edge of every right side row 8 times. 29 (33, 33, 37,
37, 41) sts. Work without further shaping until piece measures 4.5” (4.75”, 5”, 5.25”, 5.5”,
5.75”) from the beginning of the armhole shaping, ending on a wrong side row.
Shape neck: Cast off 7 (8, 8, 9, 9, 10) sts from beginning of the next right side row. 22 (25,
25, 26, 26, 31) sts. Decrease 1 st at neck edge on following 4 (5, 4, 6, 5, 6) right side rows. 18
(20, 21, 22, 23, 25) sts. Work until piece measures 7 (7.25”, 7.5”, 7.75”, 8”, 8.25”) from the
beginning of armhole shaping, ending on a right side row. Cast off 9 (10, 10, 11, 11, 12) sts
from the beginning of the next wrong side row. P to end. Knit one row. Cast off remaining 9
(10, 11, 11, 12, 13) sts.
Left Front:
Work as given for right front, reversing pocket placement, armhole shaping and
neck shaping.
Sleeves:
With 4mm (US 6) needles and MC, cast on 42 (46, 46, 50, 50, 54) sts.
Work in pattern as follows:
Row 1: *K2 in MC, P2 in Colour B* Repeat to last 2 sts. K2 in MC
Row 2: *P2 in MC, K2 in Colour B* Repeat to last 2 sts. P2 in MC
Row 3: *K2 in Colour A, P2 in MC* Repeat to last 2 sts. K2 in Colour A
Row 4: *P2 in Colour A, K2 in MC* Repeat to last 2 sts. P2 in Colour A
Row 5: As Row 1
Row 6: As Row 2
Change to 4.5mm (US 7) and stocking stitch. Work 12 rows. Increase 1 st at each end of row
on next and every following 12

row until 60 (64, 64, 66, 66, 68) sts. Work until sleeve
measures 17” (17.5”, 18”, 18”, 18.5”, 18.5”) from cast on edge, ending on a wrong side row.
Shape sleeve cap: Cast off 5 sts from the beginning of the next 2 rows. 50 (54, 54, 56, 56,
58) sts. Decrease 1 st at each end of right side rows until 26 (28, 28, 30, 30, 32) sts. Cast off
3 (4, 4, 5, 5, 6) sts from the beginning of the next 2 rows. 20 sts. Cast off 3 sts from the
beginning of the next 2 rows. 14 sts. Cast off.
Neckband:
With 4mm (US 6) needles and MC, pick up and K20 (22, 22, 24, 24, 26) sts evenly
along the right front neck edge. Pick up and K3 sts along the back neck edge. Knit 20 (20,
22, 24, 26, 26) sts from the holder. Pick up K3 sts along the back neck edge. Pick up and K20
(22, 22, 24, 24, 26) sts evenly along the left front neck edge. 66 (70, 74, 78, 80, 84) sts Work
3 rows in garter stitch. Cast off.
Finishing:
With MC and two 4.5mm (US 7) double point needles, cast on 3 sts. With the
needle with the cast on sts, pick up and K1 st from the cast on corner of the right front
opening edge. Slide all 4 sts to the opposite end of the double point needle and without
turning, pull the yarn from the other end and K2, SSK, pick up and K1 from 2
nd
row of the
right front opening edge. *Slide the 4 sts to the opposite end of the needle and continue by
K2, SSK, pick up and K1 every second row*. Repeat between *'s along the front opening until
the cast off row of the neckband has been reached. Repeat for the left front, beginning at
the cast off edge of the neckband and working towards the cast on edge. Mark the left front
for the position of 7 buttons spaced evenly, beginning at the first row of pattern on the
waist section and ending just below the neckband. Make 7 chain stitch button loops with
crochet hook to fit buttons and sew to correspond with marked button positions to the
inside of the right front opening.
