Ein eigenartiges Hygiastandbild in Melk (Österreich).
Dieses in der Bibliothek der Benediktinerabtei dieser kleinen Stadt sich befindliches Standbild der Gesundheitsgöttin fällt auf durch seine Beigaben : nicht die übliche Schale mit der Schlange, sondern der Aeskulapstab und ein Arzneigefäss. Es ist deswegen eine interessante ikonographische Seltsamkeit für die Geschichte der Pharmazie.
An original statue of Hygeia in Melk (Austria).
Located in the library of the Benedictine abbey of this small city, the statue is remarkable for its attributes which are, rather than the habitual cup and serpent, the staff of Aesculapius and a vase of medication. It thus constitutes an iconographic rarity in the history of pharmacy.

An original statue of Hygeia in Melk (Austria).
