Introduction There are several factors in praying prophetically. The Written Word of God is central to every prayer. However, the Holy Spirit will show you how to apply the Word to your situation.         I have found in almost all the examples I will give, that it is optimum if you can find someone who will agree with you (Matthew 18:20). In addition, it is essential on a daily basis to renew your mind by reading God’s Word (Ephesians 4:22-24). Our warfare is in the realm of our mind. Satan will attempt to break our focus through negative thinking. How do you renew your mind? God’s Word itself addresses this question. We should meditate day and night in the Word (Joshua 1:8; Psalms 1:2-3;                 Isaiah 4:5-6).   As we do this, the scriptures will wash and cleanse our thought life (Ephesians 5:25-26). It is the key to having “good success”, especially in your prayer life (John 15:7).  

Preface We live at a time when there is very little “fear of the Lord” in our land. In many circles, Christianity has become preaching the Gospel in “word only”. It was never God’s intention to just hear the Word preached, but to see a demonstration of God’s power (John 10:37-38).     Consider this scripture which tells of God drying up the waters of Jordan, so that Israel could pass over into the land of promise: “that all the people of the earth might know the hand of the Lord, that it is mighty, that you might fear the Lord your God forever”(Joshua 4:24).   Let me call your attention to Paul’s word in Romans 15:18-19 “For I will not to dare to speak of any of those things which Christ has not accomplished through me, in word and deed, to make the Gentiles obedient, in mighty signs and wonders, by the power of the Spirit of God, so that...I have fully preached the gospel of Christ”. Paul preached the balance of grace and faith, but his preaching was accompanied by mighty signs and wonders which is God’s pattern for us today (Hebrews 13:8; Mark 16:20).

It is high time for the Lord’s church to step out in demonstrating the power and might of God’s Kingdom. Our prayer is that you would be stirred in your heart to “make the Gentiles obedient by word and deed” (Rom.15:18-19).    

Chapter One : “FIRST THINGS FIRST”           Where do we start? How do we begin to see God’s power released for healing and turning people to the reality of Jesus Christ? I believe it has to begin by not just studying the Word of God, but by meditating and savoring His Word. Listen to this wonderful verse from the book of Mark that shines true light on Biblical meditation: “And He said unto them, be careful what you are hearing. The measure (of thought and study) you give (to the truth you hear) will be the measure (of virtue and knowledge) that comes back to you-and more (besides) will be given to you who hear” (Mark 4:24 Amp.). How do we meditate? Why not start by studying the promises of God (2 Peter 1:3-4). Prepare a journal. Write out the promise. Read it out loud several times. Pray in the Spirit over the verse (Jude 20-21). Then write what the Lord has shown you. Don’t rush, linger for awhile in His Presence and in that verse. When you eat a wonderful steak (presuming you are not a vegan), you don’t gobble it with ketchup. You savor it, you take time to enjoy the experience. Next see yourself realizing the promise and experiencing it.    

In addition, it is essential that you be filled with God’s Spirit and have a freedom to pray in tongues (1 Cor.14:13-15; Jude 20-21; Acts 2:4; 9:17)             (1 Cor.14:18-19; Acts 10:44-46;19:1-6).    

It is my thought that one of the reason’s Paul moved in such revelation was that he prayed in tongues more than his peers (see 1 Cor.14:18).               This book is not an apologetic for the operation of the gifts of the Spirit, but to show signs and wonders are a normal part of our Christian walk (Hebrews 13:8). Get ready to be stirred by the testimonies I will be sharing in the following chapters. Before launching into testimonies of many different kinds of signs and wonders this book will focus on, I want to say that there are many forms of prayer: petition prayers, intercessory prayers, prayer and fasting, thanksgiving prayers, healing prayers, and prayers of agreement to name a few. However, I want to examine what I call prophetic prayer and what are its ingredients. There are many, many

times we do not know “HOW” to pray specifically for a matter (Rom.8:26-27). But as we partner with Holy Spirit, He will reveal to you the promise to stand on and declare to see the miracle. During the course of this book, I will be sharing a number of examples to illustrate how the Holy Spirit can move. I have definitely not arrived, but as one great teacher has said, “I have left the building”.              

There are some scriptures that I want to bring to your attention that will be essential in releasing the power of God’s Spirit in the powerful Name of Jesus Christ. The first scripture I want to look at is Matthew 18:19, often called the “prayer of agreement”: “Again I say to you that if two of you shall agree on earth as touchinganythingthat they  shall ask, it shall be done for them of My Father which is in heaven.” In conjunction with that promise, the Word tells us it must be “according to His will”(1 John 5:14). God’s Word is His will and  specifically the promises of God(2 Corinthians 1:18-20). Notice Paul does not say these promises are “yes” and “no”. Not “Yes” for the first century church and “No” for the 21st century church. Rather ALL the promises of God are both “yes and amen” in Jesus Christ.    

The Greek word for “agreement” in Matthew 18 is “sumphoneo”. The word “symphony”is derived from this word. Think of a symphony of various kinds of instruments, blending in harmony and one accord. Do you believe that when at least two or three of you are in agreement concerning a thing, God will answer? Your answer should be “Yes and Amen”!               Let us look at what the Lord tells us in 2 Peter 1:3-4: “as His divine power has given to us all  things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him, who called us by glory and virtue, by which have been given to us great and  precious promises that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust”. It is essential to know and understand that we have
