Introduction:ParentLinkisaweb-basednotificationserviceforK-12schooldistricts.ParentLinkiscapable of delivering messages via telephone, e-mail, (SMS) text message, fax, and printed letters to the students, parents, and staff in a participating district. Types of messages that can be sent include absence notifications, reminders, and general information. In emergency situations, ParentLink can prioritize and rapidly send messages containing import ant information from the district to school staff and parents. ParentLink is proven in helping school districts improve parental involvement, resulting in improved student attendance and achievement.

Accessing ParentLink ParentLink is a parental involvement tool that helps teachers, administrators, and other school personnel increase and improve communication within the school and community, while reducing the resources needed to maintain that communication. ParentLink can conveniently be administered and monitored from any computer with internet access and over any telephone. To access ParentLink over the web, open your web browser, enter your school or districts ParentLink web address in the Address Field, and press Enter or click Go. Logging In To log in to ParentLink, enter your login ID and password and click LOG IN. (Log Out is in the top right corner of the web interface.)
Navigation Navigation in ParentLinks web interface is easy and intuitive. The main options are visible as screen tabs across the top of the page. Associated with each tab are sub-options in the form of sub-tabs. Click on a tab to move to that section, and click on a sub-tab to access a desired screen. Once you are in a screen, you can use a number of browser conventions to display lists, make selections, make and save changes, and move between screens.

Managing My Account Click on the My Account tab to go to your Account Information page. This page displays your login ID, first and last names, gender, preferred language , and other components related to sending and receiving messages. If desired, edit your first a nd last names, login ID and password. You need to add your phone number (landline or cell) to receive test messages during training.
Changing Login and ID Click on the text Change login ID or password. Enter your new login ID and password, confirming your new password in the last field. Click SAVE. A green banner will appear, indicating that you have successfully save d your information.

Editing Personal Information Enter your first name and last na me in their respective fields, then click SAVE. You may also change other information. Adding a Phone Number From the Account Information page, click ADD under Phone Numbers. Type in your ten-digit phone number, including your area code, but do not use spaces, da shes, or other symbols. Leave the location as Home and click SAVE in the lower right hand corner.
Once you have clicked SAVE, a green ba nner appearing at the top of the pageindicates that you have successfully save d your phone number.
Adding an Email Address Click the Account Info sub-tab to return to the orig inal screen displaying your information. You now need to add an email address to be able to send email messages via ParentLink. Scroll down to Reply-to email address, near the bottom of the page, and enter your email address. You may want to use a generic school ordistrict email account to avoid receiving bounce-backs, out-of-office replies, etc. in your personal email inbox. Once you have entered your email address, click SAVE in the lower right hand corner of the page. Again, a green banner appearing at the top of the screen indicates that you have successfully saved your in formation. You are now ready to send your first ParentLink message!

Summary The My Account tab can be used to change your login ID and password, modify your personal information, and add contact information.
