Note on the Magdalenian fauna of the Abri Durif at Enval (Vic-le-Comte, Puy de Dôme). This paper presents a list of animal taxa identified in Durif Shelter along with the paleoenvironmental implications of the observed faunal associations. The fauna are not very diverse, with Reindeer and Horse the dominant species ; these taxa indicate an open and relatively cold environment. The presence of Saiga antelope and arctic fox suggests the existence of continental « island » populations of these animals that were otherwise in the process of disappearing from the region. Additionally, particular spatial patterning observed for certain bones is tentively explained as a result of a game played by Magdalenians.
