Aucune demande d’examen différé ne sera acceptée sans motif valable. Nous entendons par motif valable, un motif indépendant de la volonté de l’étudiant, tel que force majeure, le cas fortuit ou une maladie attestée par un certificat de médecin. (Règlement pédagogique 8.5). Le Département de science politique a adopté un règlement concernant les retards dans la remise des travaux. La pénalité imposée pour les retards dans la remise des travaux est de 2 % par jour. Cette pénalité est calculée en déduisant 2 % à la note obtenue pour le travail en question. L’étudiant qui remet son travail après la fermeture des bureaux du secrétariat à midi le vendredi est réputé avoir remis ce travail le matin du jour ouvrable qui suit, à l’ouverture des bureaux, et les jours non ouvrables sont comptés comme des jours de retard. Veuillez prendre note que la boîte de dépôt des travaux à l’entrée du Département est dépouillée à midiprécisestous les jours ouvrables. Approche et objectifs: Ce cours examine l'origine, le processus et les conséquences de la politique étrangère de la Chine depuis la fin de la Seconde Guerre mondiale. Il explore les dimensions stratégiques, politiques et économiques des relations extérieures de la Chine avec les grandes puissances du monde ainsi que ses voisins. Il vise non seulement à permettre une compréhension en profondeur des relations internationales chinoises, mais également à développer chez les étudiants une pensée stratégique et une compétence analytique afin qu'ils puissent conduire indépendamment des recherches sur la politique étrangère de la Chine. Ce cours est composé de quatre parties: (1) théories et méthodologies des études de la politique étrangère de la Chine; (2) les dimensions de la politique étrangère de la Chine; (3) l’intégration de la Chine dans le monde, et (4) l'ascension chinoise et la réponse américaine.

Pédagogie:

À chaque semaine, le séminaire débutera avec une ou deux présentations de la part des étudiants sur la thématique de la semaine. Ces présentations seront suivies d’une discussion générale à laquelle tous devront participer. Il est donc essentiel de compléter l’ensemble des lectures obligatoires avant le cours pour permettre une discussion efficace. Les étudiants sont encouragés à utiliser la diapositive (PowerPoint) pour la présentation. Exigences: (1)Tous les étudiants doivent avoir lu les lectures obligatoires avant le séminaire. Les articles seront disponibles sur StudiUM sous le dossier de "POL6616 - La politique étrangère de la Chine".

(2)Durant le trimestre, chaque étudiant prépare au moins une présentation de 30-40 minutes sur la thématique de la semaine.

(3)Pour les étudiants à la maîtrise, ils compléteront un examen intra et un examen final de rédaction d'essai à la maison qui devra être dactylographié et envoyé par courriel. Pour ceux et celles au doctorat, au lieu des examen, ils auront à préparer une revue critique (2-3 pages) de livres et une proposition de recherche (3-5 pages) sur une thématique de leur choix au sujet de la politique étrangère chinoise, et enfin rédiger une recherche (20 pages).

(4)La présence est obligatoire. Chaque absence sans motif valable sera pénalisée par un point de l’évaluationfinale. La participation active à la discussion générale au sujet de la thématique de la semaine est encouragée et est attendue.
