« XIXth century town halls : remarkable architectures », by Marie Gloc-Dechezleprêtre. The subject matter of this article concerns the town halls in the French XIXth century architecture. From the 1980s, a lot of monographic studies have been devoted to this architectural program in France. However, no synthesis has been written yet. By analysing the administrative context, observing the knowledge of the architects in regard to the architectural theory and the national town halls architectural history, while describing the various styles adopted successively or at the same time, the present article proposes an inclusive approach of this public architecture program through the whole XIXth century. The author nevertheless states as a conclusion that more monographic studies needs to be done ; these works show indeed how stylistic and programmatic diversity is the rule in this type of buildings, which borrow elements as well from the official style as from the latest research towards a modern architecture (particularly at the end of the century).
« Rathäuser im XIX. Jahrhundert : eine bemerkenswerte Architektur », Marie Gloc-Dechezleprêtre. Das Hauptthema des Aufsatzes bilden die Rathäuser der französischen Architektur des XIX. Jahrhunderts. Seit den 80er Jahren wurden manche Studien darüber geschrieben. Der vorliegende Artikel analysiert diese staatliche Architektur, indem er den administrativen Zusammenhang, das Wissen der Architekten über architektonische Theorien sowie die Architekturgeschichte der Rathäuser untersucht, und schließlich die verschiedenen aufeinanderfolgenden Stile beschreibt. Stilistische und architektonische Mannigfaltigkeit kennzeichnen normalerweise diese Art des Bauens. Die beschriebene Art zeichnet sich jedoch durch ihren offiziellen, aber auch sehr modernen Charakter — besonders am Ende des Jahrhunderts — aus. Zum Schluss hofft die Autorin, dass weitere Monographien erscheinen werden.
