Dioskurides, Andrés Laguna und die Pharmazie.
Nachdem er die medizinische Lizenz in Paris und den Doktorhut in Bologna erworben hatte,übte der Spanier Andrés Laguna seinen Beruf vorwiegend in Flandern und in Italien aus. Seine Kastilianische Uebersetzung der Materia medica des Dioskurides, von welcher es mehrere Ausgaben längs des 16. bis 18. Jhs gibt, war die hauptsächlichste botanische, pharmazeutische und wirtschaftliche Informationsquelle der spanischen Apotheker und sollte bis zum vergangenen Jahrhundert in alien Apotheken vorhanden sein. Sein Einfluss übte sich nicht nur auf der Halbinsel aus, sondern auch in hispanisch- amerikanischen Landen mittels der Herbarien und Receptarien welche dort verfasst wurden vom 16. bis 18. Jahrhundert.

The Spaniard Andrés Laguna (1510/1511-1559), after having obtained his medical license in Paris and his doctorate in Bologne, practiced his profession essentially in Flanders and in Italy. His Castilian version of the Materia Medica of Dioscorides, published in several editions throughout the 16th and 17th centuries, was the principal source of botanical, pharmaceutical and commercial information for Spanish pharmacists and was certain to be in all dispensaries throughout the last century. His influence was felt not only on the peninsula but also in Spanish-American territories, due to the herbals and formularies which were compiled there during the 16th and 17th centuries.

Dioscorides, Andrés Laguna and pharmacy.

The Spaniard Andrés Laguna (1510/1511-1559), after having obtained his medical license in Paris and his doctorate in Bologne,

practiced his profession essentially in Flanders and in Italy. His Castilian version of the Materia Medica of Dioscorides, published

in several editions throughout the 16th and 17th centuries, was the principal source of botanical, pharmaceutical and commercial

information for Spanish pharmacists and was certain to be in all dispensaries throughout the last century. His influence was felt
