Research on the hydrological structure of catchment basin. - Abstract. - The aim of the research is to discover the hydrological structure of a catchment basin, that is the maximum capacity of the various reservoirs (soil, crust rock, sub-strata) which go to make it up and their respective laws of drainage. The proposed method depends on the study of catchment basins which are geographically homogeneous, the daily analysis of the various hydrological data and the discovery of the hydrological groundsills separating the periods of direct flow, hypodermic flow and drying up. Four to five years of measuring the flow suffice to discover this hydrological structure. By breaking down a heterogenic catchment basin, by using a geomorphological map, into its various homogeneous sectors, it becomes possible to construct a proper hydro-logical model. The classical separation of the various components of the hydrogramme becomes doubtful.
