As Spring approaches, lots of new tree planting projects have just been announced throughout the US and UK, with regional groups and associations endeavoring to improve the struggling environment.

(Newswire.net-- March 25, 2015) Las Vegas, NV -- With Spring on the doorstep, lots of new tree planting projects have been announced for the US and UK, with regional groups and associations endeavoring to improve the struggling environment by absorbing more carbon dioxide and potentially harmful gasses, such as sulfur dioxide, carbon monoxide, with the treed also helping to release more oxygen.

(body) The City of Suwanee has been a Tree City USA for 25 years. As part of its commitment to being a Tree City USA, the City has announced that they will be planting elm or oak trees behind the Community Court Crossroads Center at 323 Buford Highway on March 28. Volunteers are requested to help with the tree planting, beginning at 9:00, with volunteers being asked to get in touch with the City Coordinator Dan Robinson. In the official announcement, he said... "While planting an oak or elm tree may sound strenuous, we assure volunteers that the actual tree planting is not back-breaking work in any way. Almost anybody can do it, and it's a fantastic way to help the environment, and to make an impact on the neighborhood for years to come."

Schools and community groups in south east Northumberland are planting countless trees to revitalize green areas. Tree packs will be rendered to schools and neighborhood groups throughout the UK as part of the Woodland Trust's free trees plan, sponsored by Sainsburys, IKEA, Yorkshire Tea and People's Postcode Lotto. Horton Grange Primary School in Blyth, Cramlington Village Primary School, Pegswood First School and 4th Morpeth Scout Group are taking part in the free tree planting, helping to absorb more carbon dioxide from the environment, as well as other potentially harmful gasses, such as sulfur dioxide, carbon monoxide, with the trees helping to release more oxygen too. Some groups have actually chosen to plant their trees to memorialize the centenary of the First World War, chiming with the charity's own ambitions to develop four big centenary woods for the general public's use by 2018, 100 years following the conclusion of the great war.

In DeKalb County, a local newspaper has reported that hundreds of trees are part of a promise to enhance the economics of the DeKalb County green corridor, enhancing the region, while signaling future partnership, cooperation and more economic development for the entire region. "We have a strong working relationship helping us to enrich financial development for this amazing green corridor," said Emory Morsberger, Stone Mountain CID president, who added... "We greatly appreciate DeKalb County and the leaders of Ryland Homes for planting these trees, which promise to increase our neighborhood's tourism value."

The University of Oklahoma (OU) will celebrate Arbor Day with a picnic and tree planting on the Norman Campus, on Wednesday, March 25. The OU Jazz Combo will be playing prior to the program. Members of the university and surrounding communities are invited to take part in the picnic, set up to start at 11:30 am, with the program at midday at David A. Burr Park, 1501 Asp Ave. The tree planting will follow the picnic blanket lunch on the grounds of the Duck Pond. It has also been announced that throughout the picnic blanket lunch, President David Boren shall be talking about the significance of Arbor Day, as well as the custom of tree planting at OU. As part of the celebrations, OU employees shall be recognized for their contributions, while campus organizations will be honored by First Lady Molly Shi Boren for the upkeep of their embraced green corridor.
