Dans le présent travail nous présentons une liste de1085 espèces de lichens d’Algérie reparties en 187 genres, 73 familles et 20 ordres. Ce travail est un apport à la recherche lichénologique algérienne et contribuera aussi à l’enrichissement de la flore nordafricaine et méditerranéenne en général. Summary:aim of this work is to update the Algerian lichen flora and to create a "checklist" of the The Mediterranean lichen species subscribed in the program of the defunct Dr. Rahali. In this work we present a list of 10species of Algerian lichens divided into 187 genera, 73 families and 20 orders. This studie is an Algerian contribution to lichénologic research and also a contribution to the enrichment of North African and Mediterranean flora. Revue EcologieEnvironnement (10) : 2014 L'étude des lichens en Algérie a commencé il y a plus d'un siècle, mais sous forme d'explorations de naturalistes qui faisaient la collection des espèces lichéniques récoltées sur leur chemin et identifiées par Nylander. Plusieurs botanistes se sont alors succédés en ce sens et ont pu marquer l'histoire de la lichénologie algérienne (Boutabia, 2000). Les premières herborisations lichénologiques en Algérie furent faites en 1840 dans l'exploration scientifique a commencée sous la direction de Bory de StVincent. L'étude des lichens récoltés faite par Montagne et Durieu de Maisonneuve a été publiée à Paris en 1846. Nylander dans le « Prodronus lichenographiae Galiae et Algériens » cite 189 lichens comme existant en Algérie. En 1854 le célèbre lichénologue publia ses éludes sur les lichens de l'Algérie, 167 espèces y sont indiquées ; 141 appartiennent à Durieu, 25 ont été récoltées par Balansa, 1 par M. Cosson (Flagey 1896). En 1864, Nylander publia la liste des lichens récoltés par Tourneux dans le Djebel Chélia dans les Aurès (8 Taxa) et dans la région du Hodna (12 taxa) (Mosbah 2007).

Le Général Paris et Emy ont récolté un certain nombre de Lichens saxicoles autour de Constantine et de BouSaada ; le premier a publié en 1871 la liste de ces Lichens, déterminés par Nylander, dans sa «Notice sur la végétation des environs de Constantine » (Bull. Soc. Bot. France, 18, 1871, p. 269) (Maire 1931) .

Le botaniste finlandais Norrlin a fait dans le Sahara algérien d'importantes récoltes lichénologiques, qui ont été publiées par Nylander en 1878 exposés dans les « Symbolae quaedan ad lichenographiam sahariensem ».

Le catalogue des lichens de l’Afrique intitulé "Lichenaea Africana" publié en 1890 par le botaniste suisse Stitzenberger , était à cette époque très complet en ce qui touche l’Algérie.

Le lichénologue français Flagey, auteur d'une Flore des Lichens de FrancheComté, vint s'installer en Algérie, à Azéba, en 1884 ; il consacra tous ses loisirs, pendant près de 15 ans, à l'étude de la Flore lichénique du Nord du département de Constantine, et à l'étude des Lichens récoltés dans d'autres parties de l'Algérie par Trabut et Debray. Il a publié une série de notes sur les Lichens d'Algérie dans la Revue Mycologique (10, 13, 14, 17, 18881895), distribué un exsiccata intitulé Lichenes algerienses (3 centuries, 307 numéros, 18911895), et condensé les résultats de ses travaux dans le Catalogue des Lichens de l'Algérie, publié en 1896 dans le volume 3 de la Flore de l'Algérie de Battandier et Trabut (Maire 1931).

En 1902, Steiner a cité 70 espèces pour la flore lichénique d'Algérie, Laghouat (17 taxons), Ghardaia (10 taxons), Blida (14 taxon), les Hauts Plateaux (20 taxons), Sidi Makhlouf ( 9 taxons)

En 1904, Hochreut Iner à publier les travaux de son étude une étude phytogéographique des lichens. Ces travaux ont été faits dans l'OuestOranais en 1901où il a signalé 14 espèces (Mosbah 2007).

En 1906, Maheu a récoltés au cours de la session extraordinaire de la Société Botanique de France dans la région d'Oran 29 Lichens repartie en 18 genre (Amphiloma lanuginosum DC.,Aspicilia calcarea Ach. ; var.ochracea Krplh.,Cladonia pyxidatavar. Ach.; pocillum Ach.,Cladonia alcicornisFik.,Cladonia endiviaefoliafr.,Cladonia furcataAch. ; varracemosaFlk. s .var.pinnataFIk., Collema (non déterminable).,Collema pulposum Ach.,Endocarpon hepaticum Ach.,Evernia Prunastri Ach.,Graphis elegans Ach.,Lecanora parellaAch.; var.plumbea Ravau d.,Lecidea calcivora Ehrh.,Lecidea decipiens Ach.,Lecidea vesicularis Ach.,Physcia villosaDub.,Placodium elegans DC.,Placodium fulgens DC.,Placodium murorum DC.,Psora decipiens Ach.,Ramalina calicaris ; var.fastigiata Pers.,Roscella tinctoria Ach., Roscella fucifortnis Ach.,Squamaria crassa DC.,Squamaria crassaVar. DC caespitosa Schauer.,Urceolaria ocellata OC.,Verrucaria nigrescensDC., (Pers.) On trouve aussi l'indication d'un certain nombre de Lichens dans le CompteRendu de la session extraordinaire de la même Société à Alger en 1914 par Battandier, Maire et Trabut.

Dans la note « la flore murale du tombeau de la chrétienne » Maire et Senevet En 1928 signalaient huit lichens ( Lepraria antiquitatisHoffm.,Lepraria chlorina Ach.,Lecanora crassaAch., (Huds) Caloplaca murorumTh . Fr., (Hoffm.) Parmelia parietinaAch.,Cladonia foliaceaSchaer .,Cladonia rangiformisHoffm.,Roccella physopsisAch .).

Seurat, au cours de ses explorations zoologiques en 1928 et De Crozals qui a résidé plusieurs années à Oran ont récolté un certain nombre de Lichens, qui ont été étudiées par Bouly de Lesdain.

En 1936, Reichert publia « L'Afrique du Nord et sa position phytogéographique au point de vue lichénologique » deux années après, WERNER a publié un article intitulé « la plasticité écologique des cryptogames méditerranéens » où il nota la distribution spatiale de 27 espèces a base des étages de végétation d'Emberger.

Selon werner 1949 la flore des Lichens de l'Algérie compte 575 espèces contre 630 au Maroc, dont 245 n'existent pas dans ce dernier pays, tandis que 330 leur sont communs.

Flagey à Estimé le nombre d'espèces endémiques en Algérie a environ 64 espèces.Pour l’Algérie le défunt Dr Rahali (2004) écrivait « Nous avons finalement 803 unités taxonomiques espèce, sous espèces et variétés en Algérie d’après la documentation actuellement disponible, dont 69

Revue EcologieEnvironnement (10) : 2014 endémiques, et ce nombre sera plus important à l'avenir ». Les études sur les lichens del’Algérie se sont ralenties pendant un demi siècle. Au début des années cinquante une équipe de botaniste installé à l’université d’Alger a reprit les travaux sur les lichens (Faurel et al. 1950, 1951, 1952, 1953 et 1954), puis il y a eu interruption des travaux à nouveau. Reprise vers l’année 1985 sous la direction de Letruit et Déruelle (Laboratoire de lichénologie appliquée, Université Paris VI) et Van Haluwyn (Laboratoire de Botanique et cryptogamie, Faculté de pharmacie de Lille). Puis vient l’équipe du Professeur Semadi qui a réalisé plusieurs travaux sur les lichens de la région de Annaba. Il en n’est de même pour la région du centre du pays étudié par Rahali et Djellil. Ainsi plusieurs centaines d’espèces lichéniques nouvelles se sont ajouté à la liste établie par leurs prédécesseurs. A l'état actuel des connaissances le nombre est de 934 espèces recensées (Rahali, 2006 in Merabti 2008).

Bendechech et Haina (2004) rapportent que : Le nombre d’espèces de lichens est estimé au Maroc à 1094 par Egea (1996) et en Tunisie à 415 par Seaward (1996), et si l'on compare la flore lichénique Algérienne avec d'autres pays de la Méditerranée, nous trouvons, 2345 en Italie Nimis (1993) et 3015 espèces en Espagne Llimona et Hladun (2001), 3435 lichens en France Roux (2012), cette disparité est due sans doute à deux facteurs déterminants qui sont le climat et le nombre de publications et d’exploration par les scientifiques dans ces différents pays, citons par exemple : Le nombre de chercheurs sur les lichens en ce moment en Espagne, par exemple, est estimé à plus de 450 personnes, et environ le même nombre en Italie 436. Bien que ce nombre ne dépasse pas 130 en France, et six chercheurs en Algérie seulement.

Depuis le décès du défunt Dr Rahali et de l’érudit Pr Semadi qui était le prédécesseur des études lichénologiques, notamment dans le cadre de la bio surveillance, la lichénologie a été abandonnée, sauf quelques chercheurs qui continuent leurs travaux dans le cadre de la systématique des lichens. (Rebbas 2011).

L’herborisation lichénologiqueÀ l’Ouestplus et specialement dans les forêts de la region de Tiaret qui s’ettendent sur une superficie de 420Has 000 ont débutéen l’an2002 dans le cadre de la préparation de mon doctorat et dans le cadre de la préparation des mémoires de fin d’étudesla. Durant periode (20022014), Nous avons recolté et herborisé plus de 650 espèces licheniques. Bendaikha (2006) a repertorié 52 lichens a Oran et Hamer el ain (2013) 60 lichens dans la forêt de Tessala.

Le pn’a pu voir le jour sans l’effortrésent travail considérable fournie par le défunt Mr Rehali Mohamed qui a pu réunir et mettre à jour plus de 800 espèces de lichens d’Algérie cité dans

différentes bibliographies de 1798 à 2003. Cette liste a été publiée en 2004 dans le mémoire de Haina et Bendechach 2004 dirigé par Mr Rehali. Notre travail consiste donc à vérifier, corriger et mettre à jour cette liste, pour cela nous avons consulter différentes littératures anciennes et récentes des différents travaux de lichenologie réalisés à travers le territoire national parmi lesquelles nous citrons : Durieu de Maisonneuve et Montagne, (18461869 Nylander, (185419571964) ; Jourdan, (1867); Flagey, (1896) ; Zablbruckner, (1904); Maheu, (1906) ; Bouly & Lesdain, (190619111939); Maire (1928), Zahlbruckner, (19301931) ; Werner, (1931 1955) ; Reichert, (1937) ; Dubuis et Faurel, (1945) ; Faurel et al., (1951195); Egea, (1996); Vanhaluwyn et al (1994), Semadi (1989), (Djellil 1989), Djebar et faradjia (1992), Boutabia (2000), Bendaikha (2006), Mosbah (2007), ait hammou (2006, 2008, 2011),Slimani (2013), Ali Ahmed (2013), Rebbas (2011), Fadel (2012), khedim (2012), Hamer el ain (2013).

Dans ce travail nous présentons une liste de 1085 espèces de lichens d’Algérie dont 64 endémiques (soulignés dans la liste) reparties en 187 genres, 73 familles et 20 ordres.
