2. REGULATIONS
The competitions are governed by the following regulations:
- International Military Sports Council: Shooting, 2005
- General Regulations for the Military Nordic Championships, 2002
- The regulations for the Military Nordic Championships in Shooting, 2002
3. ORGANIZERS AND TRANSPORT
The Championship is hosted by the Eastern Command. The Karelia Brigade is responsible for the
practical arrangements.
Situated 150 km north-west from Helsinki, Vekaranjärvi is within two hours’ drive from the Helsink-Vantaa
airport.
The missions are responsible for the travel expenses to and from Finland. The participating
missions are requested to arrive at the Helsinki-Vantaa airport and by boat in Helsinki. The
organizer is responsible for local transportation in Finland.
4. CONDITIONS OF STAY
During their stay in Finland the missions are the guests of the Finnish Defence Forces from 4 to 9 September
2006. Lodging is provided by the organizer. The mission members and extra personnel are accommodated in
the barracks. The organizer will book hotel rooms for the Chief of Missions and Team Captains. Extra
expenses, including telephone, telegrams, laundry and drinks, must be paid by the consumers.

5. SPORTS FACILITIES
Shooting is carried out at the garrison shooting ranges. An electronic scoring system is not in use. The
ranges are in the following locations: 300m range, two (2) kilometres from the garrison and 25m and 50m
ranges in Utti, thirty (30) kilometres from the garrison.
6. WEATHER CONDITIONS
The average weather conditions in September in Vekaranjärvi:
- Temperature: +10 - +15

C,
- Showers are possible.
7. PASSPORTS, VISAS
For information on passports, military uniforms and visas for entry into Finland, please contact the
Finnish Embassy in your country.
The participating missions are permitted and obliged to wear military uniform during the stay in
the Karelia Brigade on the scheduled occasions.
8. DATES OF APPLICATION
Informal agreement, Annex II, before 31 June 2006.
Final entry with composition of mission and list of weapons, Annexes III – IV,
before 11 August 2006.
