Le 8 novembre 1899, Louis Fouquet ouvre un restaurant au 99, avenue des ChampsElysées qui allait devenir, aux yeux du monde entier, Le restaurant de Paris.
Dès 1928, le Fouquet’s devient le rendezvous privilégié du monde du cinéma, avec l’ouverture de la première salle de projection sur les ChampsElysées.
Raimu, Marlène Dietrich et Marcel Pagnol, qui y signera son premier contrat, deviennent vite des dèles habitués. Ils croisent dans l’Etablissement, devenu une des toutes premières tables de France, despersonnalitésdugothacommeleDucetlaDuchessedeWindsor,L’AgaKhan,… ou le monde de la politique avec Lloyd George, Winston Churchill, Georges Mandel
En mai 1976, le Fouquet’s est racheté par Maurice Casanova. Il y fera venir ses amis de la rive gauche… Jean Paul Sartre, Simone de Beauvoir, Antoine Blondin, mais aussi Françoise Hardy et JeanPaul Belmondo.
Les 8 et 9 novembre 1999, Diane BarrièreDesseigne et son mari, Dominique Desseigne, fêtent avec bonheur et erté l’acquisition du Fouquet’s et son centenaire.
Mythique, prestigieux, mais en même temps accueillant et chaleureux, dans l’esprit des grandes brasseries de toujours, le Fouquet’s s’adresse à tous ceux qui aiment se retrouver à tout moment dans un lieu animé.

A short history
On November 8, 1899, Louis Fouquet opened his restaurant on the ChampsElysées at number 99 an establishment that was going to become universally recognised as THE Paris restaurant.
With the opening of the rst cinema on the ChampsElysées in 1928, Le Fouquet’s became the favourite meeting place for the world of the silver screen.
Raimu, Marlène Dietrich and Marcel Pagnol, who signed his rst contract there, quickly became faithful regulars. At the restaurant they brushed shoulders with the cream of society, the Duke and Duchesse of Windsor, the Aga Khan,… or with political titans such as Lloyd George, Winston Churchill, Georges Mandel
In May 1976, le Fouquet’s was bought by Maurice Casanova, and his friends with from the Le Bank of the Seine, ranging from Jean Paul Sartre, Simone de Beauvoir, and Antoine Blondin, to Françoise Hardy and JeanPaul Belmondo, followed him across the river.
On November 8 and 9, 1999, Diane BarrièreDesseigne and her husband, Dominique, proudly celebrated both their acquisition of Fouquet’s and the restaurant’s centenary.
