Letter from the Dean It is a great pleasure to share with readers a selection of the signific accomplishments by our students, faculty, staff and alumni. Here’s a preview of what appears in following pages. StudentsS:tudents in our Wind Ensemble had a transformative experience this summer, for group made a two-week tour of China to present a number of concerts. Four faculty memb gave master classes at Chinese conservatories, and each has an invitation to return as a v artist-teacher. Dick Varney and Andrea Herstowski, Design, are Co-Principal Investigators on a g continued interest in K of U   ’ n s early $200,000 from NSF EPSCor. Tanya Hartman, Art, became the seventh SFA faculty member to receive the university-wide Kemper Teaching Award. Jun Kuribayashi (2004 BFA in dance) joined Pilobolus, th renowned dance company. Stephen Johnson (1987 BFA in painting and illustration) receive the 2005 Governor’s Arts Award for Individual Artist.
