Résumé
Le rôle sémantique des syntagmes nominaux introduits par le coverbe BEI (NPb) dans le passif est classiquement interprété
comme étant assimilable à celui du sujet de la construction active, i.e., l'agent. L'inexactitude de cette interprétation est
démontrée par des asymétries grammaticales qui existent entre ces deux constructions. Le NPb est un "acteur causatif ', et pas
un agent. Il ne représente qu'un acteur "responsable" de l'effet causé sur le participant.
Abstract
The semantic role filled by noun phrases following the coverb BEI (NPb) in Chinese passives has been interpreted as the same
as the subject in the active construction, i.e., agent. This paper demonstrates that this is not correct, giving clear examples of
grammatical asymmetry. The NPb is a "causative actor", not an agent; it only represents an actor responsible for bringing about
the concrete effect on the participant.
