Alright so there you have it. A low-carb, high-fat diet that forces your body to burn fats
instead of carbohydrates. Sounds pretty simple, right? There is a basic guideline for

So what kind of foods are we going to eat when on the ketogenic diet? Let’s go through
a sample day of what I would eat. Remember you are trying to stay under 25 net carbs.
That can be more or less depending on personal preference. PerHealthy Eatinga net
carb is:
Net carbsare simply the grams of total carbohydrates in a portion of food minus its
grams of fiber. Because fiber is a carbohydrate that your body cannot digest, it does not
raise your blood sugar levels or trigger an insulin response.
Starting off with breakfast. This one can be very simple:
Breakfast
Bacon and eggs. Eat as much as you want. I eat 4 or 5 strips of bacon and 3 eggs. For
our sake of example I’m going 5 strips of bacon and 3 eggs. Sure you might miss toast
but you’ll get over it. I did.
Total Carbs: 2
Net Carbs: 2
Lunch
We’re going to continue to keep this simple and order from a chain restaurant many
people have access to. We’re going to do the Jimmy John’s Gargantuan unwich. An
unwich is a sandwich that is wrapped in lettuce instead of bread. It’s great and you can
get one delivered for around $10 with tip. I get no onion to lessen the carbs.
Total Carbs: 6
Net Carbs: 6
So for dinner we’re headed toBuffalo Wild Wings. This place is Keto Heaven. We’re
going to do a Medium order of hot wings, celery and bleu cheese. A medium order is 14
wings. I’m a heavy hitter. On keto that’s OK.
Total Carbs: 11
Net Carbs: 8
Total Net Carbs on the day: 16
Look at that. We killed it today. We were never hungry and were able to stay under 25
net carbs with ease.

So what do you think? This is a very brief outline of what it takes to be successful with
the ketogenic diet. Some people just absolutely cannot give up bread and potatoes. If
you are one of those people then this will absolutely not work for you.
