Innovation
The design and measurement of in-store marketing activity has been a challenge for both Retailers and CPG
companies. With billions of dollars spent on in-store media every year, there is an unfulfilled need for measuring
the effectiveness of this spend. Infosys ShoppingTrip360 is a wireless based application, that provides a unique
in-store marketing solution that enables CPG and Retail companies to get visibility into in-store shopper &
merchandize activity at an unprecedented granularity and collaborate with shoppers in real time at the point of
purchase. Retailers can effectively manage store execution effectiveness by gauging in-store energy demand
based on occupancy, or open new checkout counters or by monitoring merchandise movement from shelves
without using expensive RFID tags etc. CPG companies can use this information to make choices on right
location inside the store to place their promotional products. Also, they can use this information to make choices
on the right location in-store to place their promotional products. ShoppingTrip360 also offers a mobile concierge
application through which the Retailers & CPG companies can interact with the shoppers. Through this
application, shoppers can download and retrieve recipes on their cell phones while shopping. They could also get
recommendations on matching products, with personalized promotional offers that could be redeemed
electronically. Combined with the wireless sensors in the stores, the mobile concierge is a powerful tool to engage
the shopper real time and send contextual and location-aware promotions to them. They could also get greater
visibility on the effectiveness of their promotional spend through an analysis of shopper traffic in a particular
area. It has the ability to capture in-store shopper and merchandize activity with granularity & accuracy and also
to target the shopper at point of purchase. The solution therefore provides a unified service, with minimum in-
store infrastructure requirements and requiring no significant changes to the store layout, infrastructure and
operations. To reduce the adoption risk, ShoppingTrip360 is offered in an "Information-as-a-service" model,
enabling rapid deployments by Retailers with zero capital expenditure.
