Overview

Stellar Partition Manager is a drive partition management software for Mac Operating system. With the
help of this software, you can perform many tasks on your hard drive for better use of drive memory and
optimized performance. You can create a new partition, change size of an existing partition, delete a
partition, format a partition or hide/reveal a partition on your hard drives. In case you need to manage
boot hard drive, you must boot from another drive or bootable media. You can also create a bootable
DVD with the help of this software.

Total free space available listed in the partition list of application helps you decide the size of a new or
existing partition. Unique Hide option makes the partition invisible, securing it from unwanted user
access. Reveal option helps you to mount the hidden partition.

You are suitably warned by this software to take proper backup of data every time you start creating, re
sizing, deleting, formatting, hiding or revealing your hard drive thereby preventing you from any kind of
accidental data loss.

Installation Procedure

Before installing the software, ensure that your system meets minimum system requirements.

Minimum System Requirements
Processor: Intel, PowerPC (G3 or later)
Operating System: Mac OS 10.3.9 and above
Memory: 512 MB RAM
Hard Disk: 25 MB of free space


Steps to install Stellar Partition Manager

To install Stellar Partition Manager, follow the steps:
• Unpack StellarPartitionManager.dmg.zip file.
• After decompressing it, double click .dmg file. This will mount a virtual volume - Stellar Partition
Manager.
• Drag StellarPartitionManager file to Applications folder.
• To launch the software, double click on StellarPartitionManager file in Applications folder.
• This displays License Agreement. If user accepts the License Agreement, then the software is
launched; otherwise it quits.

To remove the software, drag and drop the StellarPartitionManager file from Applications folder to
Trash.

Order Stellar Partition Manager

The software can be purchased online. For price details and to place an order, Click Here
Once the order is confirmed, a pre-paid registration key will be sent through e-mail, which would be
required to register the software.

Register Stellar Partition Manager

To Register Stellar Partition Manager:
1. Click Register.. in Tools menu.
2. In registration window that pops up, do one of the following:
If you have purchased the product and received registration key,
• Select 'I have a key to register the product'. Click OK.
• Enter the Registration key and click OK, to complete the process.
If you have to purchase the product,
• Select 'I don't have a key to register the product'. Click OK, to go to the order webpage,
where you can purchase the product.

In demo version, when you try to resize or create new partition, registration window pops up. To register,
follow the steps mentioned above.

How to Update?

Update feature available in Stellar Partition Manager allows you to check the latest updates. This helps
you keep your application up-to-date. If updates are available for the product, update wizard pops up
when you launch Stellar Partition Manager. Otherwise, you can use Check for Updates... option in
StellarPartitionManager >> Preferences menu.

To Update Stellar Partition Manager, do one of the following:

1.Launch Stellar Partition Manager.
• If updates are available for the product, update screen pops up along with the main interface.
• Click Continue button.
2.Click Preferences option in StellarPartitionManager. A dialog box will open.
• Click General tab. In General option screen, click Check for updates now button.
• It may take few seconds or minutes to download the files. Once completed, 'Update
successfully installed' message appears. Click OK.

After installing the latest available version, restart Stellar Partition Manager to get the updated
application.

User Interface

Stellar Partition Manager has a simple and easy to use graphical user interface allowing the user to
manage Mac partitions easily and quickly.





The main user interface is arranged as follows:
• Toolbar, which contains all the managing tools.
• Left pane shows the Hard Drive(s) list.
• Middle pane shows the available hard drive partition(s).
• Right pane shows the disk and partition information along with the task to do list information.

Add Partition: Using this feature, you can create new partition on your hard drive.

Format Volume/Partition: This helps you to erase data from the volumes/partitions. If a partition
contains data which is no more required, you can use format option to remove those data and assign the
space for new data.

Delete Volume/Partition: This allows you to remove any unwanted volume/partition from the hard drive.
All data in it will be destroyed beyond recovery. The deleted volume will be marked as free space and can
be used to create new partition.

Hide Volume/Partition: Using Hide option, you can unmount partition/volume temporarily to secure your
volume from unwanted user access. The hidden volume will not be visible under normal circumstances
and will not mount automatically, even by using any other utility. Stellar Partition Manager will rename the
hidden volume with automatically generated disk identifier name. But in some cases, the hidden volume
will retain its original name.

Reveal Volume/Partition: Using Reveal option, you can mount the hidden volume back on the desktop
and it restores the original name. A hidden partition can be revealed again only using Stellar Partition
Manager. The hidden partition will be visible in other applications, but you will not be able to select or
mount the partition.

Resize Volume/Partition: You can expand or trim partition size. If a partition needs more space, or it has
too much space within the partition, you can resize the same. Resizing depends on the available free
space and the space within the existing partition. In order to resize a partition, the partition as well as the
free space needs to be selected. You can decrease the partition size, only if there is free space in it.

Roll Back: Allows you to undo the last selection. In case you have selected a partition or free space to
perform an action, but decided not to proceed, you can use Roll Back option to undo the selection.

Refresh: Allows you to return to the initial User Interface and also shows the latest Hard Drive(s) list.

Add Partition

To Create a new partition:

1. Launch Stellar Partition Manager. Select the Hard Drive.
2. Click Add button on the toolbar. Add New Volume dialog box is displayed.
3. Specify Volume name and move the slider to specify the size.
4. Click button.
5. You can view the newly added partition(s) in the Task to do list in right pane. Click
Start button to start the listed tasks.
6. A message box with warning is displayed. Click Continue after making sure that you have taken
proper backup of important data.
After completion of process, newly added partition will be shown in the middle pane along with other
partitions.

Format a Partition

To Format a partition:

1. Launch Stellar Partition Manager. Select the Drive.
2. Select the Volume/Partition in the middle pane.
3. Click on Format button on the toolbar.
4. Format task will be added in the Task to do list in right pane. Click Start button to start the
listed tasks.
5. A message box with warning is displayed. Click Continue if you have taken proper backup of
important data as this operation will erase all data in the volume/partition.
Once the process is completed, the partition is refreshed and ready for the next action.
