The goalof a multiple segmentation combination concept is to combine multiple imperfectsegmentation results produced from multiple sources into a single improved seg-mentation result. In Part One the concept of multiple segmentation combination isapplied to a contour averaging problem. The contour averaging problem is formallyformulatedwithintheframeworkofgeneralizedmedianasanoptimizationproblem.A new efficient algorithm based on dynamic programming to exactly compute thegeneralized median contour is presented, as well as the usefulness of the exact so-lution of generalized median contour in verifying the tightness of a lower bound forgeneralized median problems in metric space.
