'Sir,—I have the honour to transmit herewith my report entitled Dictionary of Altitudes in the Dominion of Canada,' accompanied by a relief map of the Dominion, on ' anda scale of 100 miles to one inch. It is supplementary to my Altitudes in Canada,' should have formed Part 2 of that work, but, as its inclusion would have seriously delayed the publication of Part and in view of the demand for such a publication,1, it was evident that the issuance of Part 1 as a complete work was the lesser evil.
