Hngarian Economy Face to Face with the World Market.
In his introduction the author treats Hungarian planned economy and the growth of efficiency; he then discusses in detail the complex relationships arising from collective ownership of the means of production and the rulings governing the activity of firms. An over-all picture is given of the structure of foreign trade and production and of the proposed development of Agriculture and the food industry in the present Five Year Plan (1976-1980). He also touches upon the participation of industrial branches in the international division of labor.
The selective development of Hungarian industry is examined by way of the policy of firms with regard to the expansion of exportations, along with the present- day evolution and modernization of several industrial branches such as: construction of mechanical devices, chemicals, aluminum and the building and clothes industries. Finally Hungary appears as a commercial intermediary between East and West.
L'auteur traite, dans l'introduction, de l'économie planifiée hongroise et de la croissance de l'efficacité ; il s'étend sur les rapports de propriété des moyens de production et sur la réglementation de l'activité des entreprises. Il donne ensuite une vue d'ensemble de la structure du commerce extérieur, de la production et du développement de l'agriculture et de l'industrie alimentaire au cours du V plan quinquennal (1976-1980) et de la participation de cette branche industrielle à la division internationale du travail.
II examine le développement sélectif de l'industrie hongroise, la stratégie des entreprises et l'expansion des exportations, présente l'évolution et la modernisation de plusieurs branches industrielles : constructions mécaniques, chimie, aluminium, bâtiment et habillement. Finalement, il fait apparaître la Hongrie comme un pays de transit du commerce est-ouest.
