About This Book
People affected by anxiety suffer from intense and uncontrollable feelings of anxiety, fear, worry, and/or panic. When a person is in a sad mood for a prolonged period of time and it interferes with their daily normal activities she or he might be depressed which sometimes might be due to anxiety. Some symptoms of anxiety and depression are feeling sad and anxious often, losing interest in one’s favorite activity, feeling easily irritated or frustrated, etc. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), an estimated 19.1 percent of U.S. adults had at least one of the anxiety disorders in 2003. Similarly, in 2017, about 11 million U.S. adults 18 years of age or older had at least one major depressive episode.
