As usual, the Monkeyssori School kids milled around the sandy beach and encouraged young Turtle TUTTLE to climb on the Watermelon Rock and leap into the air flying. Cockatoo CATUKY, Macaw CAWAKY, and Toucan CANUKY circled overhead urging him to come up so that they could teach him a few flying tricks. Miss ANGUTA Orangutan, the school principal, had to come out of the woods to get them to come to their classes under the trees. She announced to all that today would be a special day. All classes would meet together for a lesson on rainbows that would be taught by Miss ANZIE Chimpanzee.
It took everyone a while to settle down. Some parents, including TUTTLE’s mom and dad, decided to stay and listen to Miss ANZIE’s lesson. They didn’t know what caused the pretty rainbows to come up in the sky. They lived so close to the ground and could see only parts of rainbows that were always high above the trees.
