A well-known story about magic beans that changed people’s lives is “Jack and the Beanstalk”.







It is an English fairy tale. In 1734, it appeared as “The Story of Jack Spriggins and the Enchanted Bean”, and in 1807 Benjamin Tabart published a version with a moral at the end, “The History of Jack and the Bean-Stalk”.





Joseph Jacobs published his version of the story in English Fairy Tales in 1890. Jacobs’ version is the best- known today and is considered to be closer to the original oral versions than Tabart’s version.
