About the Author
ACKNOWLEDGMENTS
I HAVE TO GIVE shoutouts to where they are due. First, it’s a must I thank God for giving me the strength and breath to make this thang take place. For those who stuck by me and held me down when no one was around. I can’t count many, but less is more. Real never fades, but I learned a valuable lesson while writing this book. People want credit for doing something when they haven’t done anything at all. If you want something done right in life, do it yourself, because nobody cares about you and yours like you do.
Beauty never existed, so it’s all about the Beast ’cause I know what it’s really about. So fucc the Beauty of the game. It’s about moving past obstacles and overcoming the chump shit. If you can handle that, we all know the rest gone lay down for us ’cause we deserve that.
I need to give some special shoutouts to Cashton and Emori (Sassy). Pomona, California; Moreno Valley, California; Waterloo, Iowa; New Orleans, especially Dallas, Texas. D-Town stand up in style. I want to thank all of my fans and supporters and those who gave words of encouragement during this project. Funky Town up in this bitch as well. All that got a little salty with me and asked about who was Beauty. Beauty is nobody. That was a mistake that never should’ve touched the covers of my book. So please be informed that I have no idea who that is.
I’d like to give thanks to all my family and friends. Y’all know who y’all are. No need for names. Can’t stop, won’t stop. I leave as I came.
                Gravefully yours,
Sog Baby Ca$h Houston
CHAPTER 1
Bounce Back
S YNOPSIS OF THE story: The game has its ups and downs for the upcoming millionaire Mill as he wrestles his way to the top, experiencing the betrayals and perilousness that being in the game will surely bring.
The question is, does he have what it takes to overcome the insurmountable odds against him?
“Look, look, Milton,” as Dre nudged and tapped Mill on his arm, a little too hard for his taste, bringing about a frown to his pecan-colored face.
Mill said, “Nigga, what the fuck your problem is hitting me like that and calling out my real name knowing we sitting in front of Wanda’s house at that? I told you not to be saying my name like that, man.” And with Mill saying what he had to say and wondering what had Dre so excited, turned to look down the street and saw what Dre was all hype about.
“Damn, my bad, my nigga, but you act like that’s not your name or something,” Dre said as he returned the frown Mill had.
Mill just looked at Dre and replied with his voice strained and dripping with anger, “Nigga, why you always on that bullshit knowing these hoes talk too much. I don’t need them having the up on me because you always doing that hoe-ass playing and shit, nigga.”
Dre said, “Damn, my nigga, I said my bad. I ain’t finna keep apologizing and shit, but check out ya girl in that badass 750i, nigga.”
Mill said, “Yeah, that’s a bad mutha fucka, but before the summer out, imma have her calling me Millionaire.” And Dre laughed loud and said, “Nigga, get the fuck on with that dreaming. She not even seeing you. And on top of that, look at the old-ass Jordans you got on.”
Mill looked down and became conscious of his shoes that he had on, but he and Stinky C had just come from fucking with Stinky C’s dogs and they had on the clothes that were fit to be fucking with dogs that day, old shit.
Mill was getting ready to cap back at Dre ’cause Dre’s girl hustled and they still wore old shit all the time, but Diamond pulled up and Mill cut his conversation short as Diamond’s BMW stopped in front of Wanda’s house and her door opened. When she put her foot out, you could see the red bottoms she had on as one leg hit the ground with the rest of her body still inside. Bringing the rest of her body out, you could see why she’d be a threat to a lot of niggas and bitches ’cause she prided herself in looking magazine ready wherever she went.
Diamond was a dark-skinned beauty that stood around 5’4”, with a nice shape on her and some big titties that sat up straight without a bra. She had slanted eyes that gave her that China doll look. But what was so intimidating about her was her hustle and the way she does things. She never showed up with a hair or nail outta place, and Mill sat there dreading that he even came around looking like he did. But he knew it wouldn’t be long before he was back on his game, and if a bitch knew what was real, then regardless of his attire a bitch was going to see that his potential was solid. And that alone would be his calling card.
Diamond was walking toward the porch they were sitting on and Mill was looking down the street. Diamond, always wanting to get Mill’s attention, saw him looking for somebody else. And right when Diamond was getting to the porch, Dre’s baby moma, Shantel, busted out the door and said, “Hey, Diamond,” as Diamond ignored her, still looking at Mill.
Mill kept looking down the street like Diamond wasn’t there, and when she looked at Dre and Shantel, they had their eyes on her. And not liking the fact that Mill’s eyes weren’t on her, Diamond spoke. “Hey, Mill.”
Mill looked at her then and said, “Hey, what’s up, Diamond,” and kept looking back down the street.
Dre said, “Damn, that’s all you see out here?”
Diamond nodded at Dre and looked back at Mill.
Mill was thinking this nigga Dre a mutha fucka. He was so fucked up and wanted to be the center of attention so bad until he’d play himself in front of a hoe, knowing that bitches don’t want nobody they know they can have.
Dre was the kind of nigga who tried to play off another nigga, and that was going to be his downfall ’cause some niggas take certain shit seriously. And had Mill been any other nigga, he would’ve checked Dre for what he said, but the last thing he wanted to do was entertain Dre with Diamond and give Dre a reason to say a nigga went up under him, knowing he was never even in the race.
Diamond was standing there, still ignoring Shantel, who was just grinning and waiting for Diamond to acknowledge her, she said, “Mill, have my girl been through here?”
Mill, knowing who she was talking about but knowing just like she knew that if her girl Sassy was around her car would be right where she parked hers, but knowing he had her where he wanted her, said, “I don’t know. I just got over here and I ain’t saw nobody.”
Diamond, wanting to keep the conversation going, said, “You know which one of my homegirls I’m talking about, right?”
Mill said, “Naw, not really.” And Diamond said, “Mill, stop playing, boy. You know Sass my only homegirl I’d be looking for.”
And Mill, still looking down the street, said, “Yeah, I figured, but naw, I don’t know, Diamond.”
Diamond walked up the stairs, stopping right in front of Mill, and said, “Well, if she comes through and you out here, can you let me know?” And Mill said, “Yeah, I got you.” And Diamond looked at him again, admiring his waves, and walked into Wanda’s house.
She never acknowledged Shantel, and Mill wondered how Dre let his baby moma boost and hustle for them and not have anything to show for it. Mill knew they had a baby together and Dre has done a little hustling here and there, but Shantel had Diamond and her crew fresh daily, and Mill didn’t understand that.
Shantel was on the chubby side but she had a shape that went well with her frame, and she wasn’t ugly at all. Shantel was tall for a female, standing 5’8”, but she had a fat ass and a nice body that went well with her height. And plus, she didn’t have to wear weave ’cause her hair was long, but she always wore it in a p
