“Life does not usually play the best melody, but it’s life, and we have to live it according to God’s will.”
Yolanda Sanjurjo Nazario
DEDICATION
To you Mothers and Fathers who have experienced the traumatic experience of passing through “the valley of the shadow of death” having to see their children cross the path of death first; God gave me the comfort and inspiration of this book for you. Hoping that, through my experiences and Biblical verses passed on in this book feel the same peace and comfort as I feel today despite the pain experienced.

“Be merciful to me, O God, be merciful to me!
For my soul trusts in You; And in the shadow of
Your wings I will make my refuge,
Until these calamities have passed by.”
(Psalm 57: 1)

In memory of my children: Felix (Bertito) and Christian
ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS
Too much to thanks to give to the Eternal Father, because without Him nothing and with Him all things. Thank you, Father, for your mercy and your limitless love, “giving your only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” Thank you, Jesus Christ, for reaching me when my life was most broken. Thank you, Holy Spirit, for you comfort me every day, guide me and give me the strength to continue.
In acknowledgement to the memory of my children Christian and Felix, who were a part of the engine of my life until the moment of their death, and in the same way they were the engine that made me take refuge in the arms of Jesus Christ through the pain of losing them. I’m grateful for that.

FOREWORD
Relevant facts in the life of Yolanda Sanjurjo, and her rebirth as a Christian
By: Pastors José Valentín and Madeline Mejías
We met Yolanda in 2002 in the Baramaya Urbanization, Calle Areyto, Ponce, Puerto Rico. Yolanda was our neighbor and had her residence behind of ours. When we met her, she was a widowed woman with two sons and a daughter. Although we lived close, we didn’t socialize much then, since she was a nurse and her shifts changed constantly. She resided with Christian her youngest son, who was a student at the Ponce High School. At that time her other children resided in the United States.
After knowing Yolanda for some years, we received the tragic news that she lost her youngest son. Christian’s life was taken away in the Barrio Mayor Cantera in Ponce. It was during this situation that we began to have a greater relationship with Yolanda, because we were there for her during her grieving process. Despite the great loss of her youngest son, Yolanda remained a strong person and kept working as a nurse. Her resilience and character was of profound impact to the entire community. And she was seen by all as a woman who was a fighter, tireless and hardworking.
After several years her eldest son arrived from the United States, although we never knew him well, he did seem like a humble young man who was a homebody. He always showed good behavior, and nobody spoke negatively about him. We knew that Ms. Yolanda had lost her husband in an accident and that her youngest son’s life was taken. But after this, Yolanda returned home from work to find her first born son without life in the bathroom. As parents, we know that these losses are devastating, but even so Yolanda showed great character and strength, she continued to work and fight, even though Yolanda had her physical and emotional sufferings, these events had affected her significantly.
My husband José R. Valentín knew her better because he was her Handyman and worked for her on home improvements. Subsequently Yolanda divided her house and built an apartment that she’d rent in order to generate a higher income.
At this time, when Yolanda was not sleeping, she was constantly smoking cigarettes while talking on the phone with different people as a way of distraction and escape. At this time, we could understand that Yolanda was going through a severe depression. Faced with this situation of physical and emotional illness, Yolanda decided to rent her house and move to the United States with her daughter and grandchildren. It is in the State of Massachusetts that she begins to receive treatment for all of her conditions. After a year in the United States, she decided to return to Puerto Rico and sell her house and moving to Massachusetts permanently. Once she is established permanently she decides to request her own apartment and live independently.
We knew that her daughter Lesli had two children and served the Lord and always as a daughter, talked to her mother about the wonders
