#2

I was burning out, and I didn’t know what to do. I had been keeping it all in, and I was questioning my ability to lead and be a CEO. I had been fighting to keep the company afloat.

#3

There are times when you feel a need to run after what you want. But is this a want that is emerging from your innermost self, or is this an artificial want, a desire programmed into you by cultural conditioning.

#4

Your soulprint is a set of underlying instructions that you’re operating in sync with. It’s created by uncovering your foundational values, which can’t be made up. They come from you and are the unique markers of your soul.

#5

Your values are what give your work meaning, and they are what make it special. They are the foundation of your work. Before you take a job or start a company, begin by knowing your values.

#6

The two types of core values are foundational and organizational. Founding teams define the soul of a company, while organizational values are developed once people are in the door. They are the rules that govern the expected behaviors required for day-to-day collaborations to run smoothly.

#7

The company’s foundational values are derived from the team. The company’s organizational values are formed when you bring people together, and they emerge by consensus. They evolve more frequently as new team members come and go.

#8

You can’t fake your way into having foundational values. They must come from your core. The trick is to uncover them.

#9

The inner truth of the billions of people in this world is that none of us is a clone. Every person is unique with a blueprint of deeply ingrained core values that shape our behavior. Values are simply the beliefs we operate from that are as much a part of us as our DNA.

#10

The four foundational values that emerged from me were Unity, Transformation, Envisioning, and Love. They went on to infuse Mindvalley with a unique edge.

#11

The four foundational values of transformation, envisioning, love, and unity are what guide everything at Mindvalley. They are featured on our career pages, and we challenge prospective employees from the moment they find us until they join us.

#12

The process of developing foundational values is to introduce them to a team, and if necessary, some employees may resign. But the upside is that within twelve months, a three-year period of accelerated growth occurred.

#13

Your values are what are shaping all your decisions. Once you define them, you’ll understand what you need to do next and whom you need to connect with to build a life and business that inspires.

#14

To extract your foundational values, follow the instructions below. Remember that these values cannot be made up. They must be extracted. They tend to emerge from painful moments, because it’s at these times we make powerful decisions on how we will choose to behave in the future.

#15

The organizational values of a team are the attitudes and behaviors team members should exhibit. They are developed democratically. They never stop evolving, and it’s important to constantly go back to them and review them.

#16

Create a list of six to ten core values that you want to see in your team culture. Review your list with the executive team first. Decide on the final six to ten core values. Assemble your team.

#17

I was added to the special registration list in 2003, because I had been born in Malaysia. I had lived in the United States for nine years, and I was denied my right to board a plane or even get off a plane without a special interview that could take up to three hours.

#18

I loved America, but I couldn’t live there anymore. I had to leave my home country due to the newly imposed security structures, but I was determined to continue building my business.

#19

In 2004, I returned to Malaysia to help the country deal with its brain drain issue. Malaysia was losing three hundred thousand of its best and smartest people each year. The country’s most talented professionals were moving to countries like Singapore, Hong Kong, or Canada.

#20

I had four suitcases and the love of my wife and parents. I was moving back into my parents’ house at the age of 28. I had an inner voice that told me to be stubbornly foolish.

#21

All humans have inner voices that tell them what to do. The voice in my case was telling me to start a company and build it up, but my logical mind was not having it. I didn’t know what I was going to do, and I was kind of at a point of just stumbling through business and life.

#22

I decided to build a new type of company, the World’s Greatest Workplace, and I gave myself until 2020 to do it. I was completely broke, but this dream began coming true.

#23

To attract the people you need to achieve your mission, you must first have a total mindset shift. Then, start by drawing the people you need right to you. You don’t need to have a fancy office or any perks to bring them to you.
