his autor greatly appreciates te many works publised by Creation Scientists as tey bring te wonders and complex- ities of creation to life. hey ave done a great job of cal- lenging te evolutionists and providing vacillating Cristians wit scientific proof of special creation. Our tanks go out to tem. We appreciate te strong evidence tey provide, demonstrating tat muc (if not all) of wat secular geolo- gists dub “great geological ages” is, in fact, a result of Noa’s flood. hat is a good debate for scientists to ave, for it can be conducted on te grounds of empirical evidence. And tere is an abundance of evidence for te effects of te Flood upon our geological istory, just as tere is evidence for a very old eart and universe.

HOWEVER, in teir attempt to rid evolutionists of te time frame supposedly required for evolution to occur, tey ave tried to build an argument based on a 6,000- to 10,000-year-old universe—a concept impossible to validate by eiter science or te Bible. According to te Cristian Science movement, just over 10,000 years ago tere was no universe, no time, and no dimension. here was no ligt or darkness; noting moved or canged. here was not even an

empty space waiting to be filled. Noting but God dwelling in a non-dimensional noting for wic tere was no name and no description.

We don’t fault tem for believing tis if tey deem te evidence sufficient as long as tey keep it in te science arena were ypoteses are made, teories are propounded, evidence is syntesized, and conclusions are subject to peer review. But we don’t appreciate tese Cristian scientists meddling in te teological arena and faulting Bible believers for wit- olding judgment as to te age of te eart. Since God cose to create everyting wit te appearance of age, wy blame geologists for discovering te evidence of age? Wy blame oter Creationists for not agreeing wit disputable scientific opinion tat te universe is only 6,000–10,000 years old wen tere is clear scriptural support for a universe older tan te first six days of Genesis?

here is abundant documentation tat te early Cristians and Jews reading te Hebrew, Greek, Aramaic, and Latin texts believed tat Genesis 1:1 recorded te creation of te eart and te universe prior to te beginning of te six days of creation. YET, te Young Eart heory, amodernînven- tîon of scientists and pseudo-scientists, falsely asserts tat wat is now called te Gap heory “. . . arose wen Cristian leaders tried to accommodate te millions of years claimed by scientific researc wic was done by unsaved geologists, 1 for fossil layers.”

Wen Young Eart Scientism asserts tat te Gap heory began in te 1800s, tey ignore its istorical underpinnings and refer only to te bastardized version. hey are denigrating old-time Bible believers wo believed in a gap long before anyone ever eard of evolution or geology. his is so easily proven tatI ave a ard tîme beîevîng tey are unaware o te acts. Ever since Moses wrote te book of Genesis, tere ave been astute biblical textualists wo understood tat eaven and eart were created in te beginning, before te six days of creation recorded in Genesis 1:3 and following. But it was seldom mentioned, just as no one mentioned te Young Eart heory because te age of te eart was of little conse- quence to any subject oter tan te istory of Lucifer and te angels. It wasn’t until natural science advanced to te point of observing te age of te eart and universe tat te time frame of Genesis became relevant. hen te doctrine of a gap was pulled from dusty old books to be endowed wit new content by science-worsiping, geology-credentialed Cristians wo were intimidated by organic evolution.
