Considering that the study of past authors and present debates are complementary, the PPE publish papers on history of economic thought, economic philosophy, or papers overlapping fields of history of economic thought and contemporary economic theory or economic history. Papers in Political Economyusually published in June and December.is a biannual journal, One of the two yearly issues is thematic and includes papers presented at a workshop or conference and selected among responses to an open call for papers. For proceedings to be published in this form, conference organizers are invited to contact the journal’s editorial board at a very early stage.

Depuis 1974, lesCahiers d’économie politiquesont un lieu privilégié pour les discussions théoriques qui prennent en compte toute la dimension historique de la discipline économique. Considérant que l’étude des auteurs passés et les débats actuels en analyse économique peuvent mutuellement s’enrichir, ils publient des articles qui relèvent de l’histoire de la pensée économique, de la philosophie économique, ou qui se situent à l’intersection de l’histoire de la pensée et de la théorie économique contemporaine ou de l’histoire économique. LesCahiers d’économie politiquepublient deux numéros par an, généralement en juin et décembre. Un de ces deux numéros est thématique. Les numéros thématiques publient des sélections d’articles proposés dans le cadre de colloques ou de journées d’étude. Ces manifestations sont organisées par la revue ou par des institutions universitaires sur le principe d’un appel à communication. Pour envisager qu’un colloque soit publié dans la revue, il est nécessaire que le responsable prenne contact dès l’organisation de la manifestation avec le comité de rédaction desCahiers.

Leonte ’s work consttuted te bass or nput-output economcs, wc s wdey used n apped economc researc, we Srafa’s wrtngs ed to te deveopment o neo-Rcardan economcs, o wc te contrbutons are many teoretca. t At te begnnng o te 20 century, owever, and years beore Leonte and Srafa started pubsng, severa economsts – or nstance Georg von Carasof (1910) or Maurce Potron (1911) – ndependenty conceved modes o te nput-output type and studed ter orma propertes. he storca sources o tese approaces are more ancent and Srafa, or nstance, was drecty nspred by te Cassca tradton.

Georg von Carasof s an economst wose man work, pubsed n 1910, s devoted to a crtca anayss o Marx’s prce teory and te queston o te ‘transormaton’. hat work was redscovered more tan seventy years ater ts pubcaton, and Carasof as snce been acknowedged as a orerunner o Leonte ’s and Srafa’s anayses. ïn partcuar, s noton o “Urkapta” s ormay cose to tat o Srafa’s “standard basket”. Carasof’s contrbuton makes no use o abstract matematcs, but t s suspected tat Carasof ‘rubbed out’ te equatons wen e pubsed s work (n our tmes, roncay, te presence o equatons woud be consdered as a proo o serousness ...).
