A Note
This Symphony, written and completed
in 2011, is one in the classical style,
which i used to compose in.
The first movement is really and
introduction to all the other movements.
Classical symphonies from the early 1800's didn't use
Trombones, and for this symphony,
they have a promenent role.
The second movement is a marchs
with a slow tranquil b-flat major
section. The march theme is repeated
bombastically near the end of the movement
before ending slowly and quietly.
The third movement, the scherzo, is a fast, almost comical
piece. the middle section is a slow song, featuring solos
of the principal players of the string family. The movement ends in
it's character.
The last movement is a joyous one, with the theme interupped
by a slow D major section. This movement also makes use of
Double bass and Violin solos. The movement then make it's
way to B minor before finding it's way back to and ending in G major.
This symphony is dedicated to my friend, Ms. S.
