Chapter 1 | THE SEA MONSTER
Morcant sees his first Romans – and is awestruck.

Chapter 2 | DRIVE THEM BACK INTO THE SEA!
Chief Lugubelen decides to fight the Romans if they try to invade his territory.

Chapter 3 | THE ROMANS ARE COMING!
Led by Julius Caesar, the Romans land in Britain and defeat Lugubelen.

Chapter 4 | HOSTAGE
Lugubelen agrees to make peace with Julius Caesar and Morcant is handed over to the Romans as a hostage.

Chapter 5 | GRYAR
Now a prisoner of the Romans, Morcant meets Gryar the Gaul, an old friend of his father.

Chapter 6 | DOOMED!
Lugubelen breaks his agreement, attacks the Romans and is defeated. Morcant is afraid he will be executed.

Chapter 7 | A LIVING TROPHY
Morcant is not executed, but Caesar announces that he is taking him back to Gaul.

Chapter 8 | THEY WILL BE BACK
With Gryar’s help, Morcant escapes and the Romans return to Gaul. Morcant’s father assures him the invaders will return.

The Romans are Coming! takes place in southern England more than 2,000 years ago. The invasion of Julius Caesar happened more or less as I’ve described it. The battles really did take place and the great Roman commander did take hostages. However, I’ve invented the character of Morcant to help you get closer to the famous and exciting events of 55 BCE.
