SUMMARY
agap2 IT, a player in digital transformation
agap2 IT is a player in the digital trans-formation of industrial and technolo-gy companies. From the control and command system for future nuclear reactors to trading rooms and e-com-merce sites for online sales, agap2 IT mobilises its project engineers and IT developers in France and Europe. We work directly with our partners or from our service centre based in Portugal. Our French teams are dis-tinguished by a very good technical level in development and a very good customer positioning, allowing us to conduct a national development of our activities. Our ambition for this end of the year is to develop our IT activities from Nantes and La Rochelle and then join you on all French agencies to support
your customers in their digital trans-formation. To do this, we are launching an ambi-tious recruitment plan in Paris, Nantes and La Rochelle at the end of the year. If you know in your pro/personal circle some developers (C++/C#/Javascript/ python) or technical project managers, then don’t hesitate to forward me their CV via the tousagap2 application or by email bertrand.charrier@agap2-it. fr Wishing you a great start to the new school year,

La Rochelle welcomes the 11th agap2 France Agency
“Just two years after joining agap2, Jocelyn is embarking on a new adventure: the opening of the 11th agap2 France Agency. At the age of 27, and after having developed the agap2 activities in Nantes in Brittany and Pays de la Loire for two years, Jocelyn moved to La Rochelle with a brand-new team already made up of Martin and Robin (Business Engineers) and Coralie (Recruitment Ofîcer). The agency will develop both IT and industrial activities thanks to the many potential customers in the region, particularly in the

At the heart of the construction of the world’s largest cruise ships
France, Queen Mary 2, Harmony of the Seas … so many legendary liners built in Saint-Nazaire. Established in the At-lantic coast for 150 years, Chantiers de l’Atlantique builds the largest passenger ships in the world. Patrice, manager of technical furniture functions, participates in the design of these giants of the seas by bringing her experience on the technical functions of furniture for the layout of the crew and passenger cabins.
An increase in the order book over the past two years Chantiers de l’Atlantique usually build one liner per year. Over the period 2019 to 2026, the delivery rate will be 2 ships per year, 3 of which will be among the largest ships in the world. To stren-gthen the design ofîce, the company had been looking for several months for a manager of technical furniture func-tions for the îtting out of the crew and passenger cabins. A proîle that must have had strong experience in the ma-nufacture of furniture in design and in-dustrialisation as well as knowledge in product development with French and foreign suppliers.

shings, shop and hotel furnishings and in the marine sector, I was able to take on the responsibility of technical furni-ture functions. In concrete terms, I write the speciîc speciîcations. I work with the draughtsmen on the various pos-sible furniture designs with the aim of making assembly as easy as possible for operators. Industrialisation is also very important for reducing manufactu-ring costs. I also develop new products with suppliers, initially with a prototype phase and then follow-up during the îrst manufacturing steps.
An exceptional industrial adventure The Chantiers de l’Atlantique are one of the largest, oldest, and at the same time, one of the most innovative shipyards in the world. Everything here is gigantic. I
discover another îeld of activity, which is very formative on a daily basis. This pro-ject also involves being in daily contact with all the company’s departments in order to deal with different subjects: quality, logistics, production… I also do studies. I have just completed a study on the lightening of the materials used to make furniture. And what I appreciate most is working and collaborating with many people with different proîles, both internally and externally.

The Industrial Methods function: the key to competitiveness
PROJEÉCDTITSO
Anaïs, agap2 consultant for 1.5 years, is an NPI Methods Engineer at a machine manufacturer. She talks about her key role in the industrialisation of new construction machines. An industrial environment which, contrary to popular belief, is not reserved only for men.
In order to maintain its leadership po-sition in the machine market, manufac-turers must constantly innovate and new machines are added to the pro-duction lines every month. The Methods Department, of which I am a member, must adapt each new product in pro-duction, in close collaboration with the Design Ofîce (BE). We calculate and plan the resources that will be required for manufacturing: tools and assembly processes according to the constraints of the plant and the line.
For large programs, the manufacture of a new machine involves three phases that last more or less one year. The prototype: test machine to validate the feasibility on the BE side and to know if a new process is to be created on the Methods side. The pilot: transition to the production line. The ramp up: after a few passes on the production line, the machine will be considered as “current” machine.
agaptualité| n°24 | september 2019
The teams working on these new machines are the NPI (New Product Introduction): methods, operators and logistics. We (the Methods Department ) must work with the Design Ofîce to create and deîne the most suitable machine for production. We are all familiar with the plant’s constraints, which is not necessarily the case with the BE. Keeping a critical eye is therefore essential.
Currently, I am working on the indus-trialisation of a tracked tractor called D5, formerly D6N. This machine has undergone many changes, compared to the îrst achievements of the BE, which have been reLected in the production line. In this business, we always have to deal with many constraints such as tack time (speed), or the maximum har-monisation of the production process with that of the machines already in production. In concrete terms, I manage the project (management of schedules,
budgets, organisation of quality mee-tings, security, etc.). I must also deîne the assembly process, the tools from design to manufacturing (lifting equip-ment, clamping equipment, means to help operators), the ranges and work standards.
Once all these steps have been com-pleted, we enter a phase called “built”. We can see the result of our efforts during the year, if we have been suc-cessful, if there are improvements to be made… I think this is the step I prefer. Throughout the year, we work with 3D simulations and there we can physically see the machine which is no longer 15 cm long but much more…

agap2 IT develops CoachMe! for the Thales group
A graduate since 2016, Donovan joined agap2 IT at the end of his Master’s degree in Imaging and Virtual Reality (EFREI). In collaboration with a team of developer and UX/UI consultants, he is currently working on the complete development of the Android CoachMe application! A high-potential application that aims to be used by the entire Thales group worldwide.
Up to 80,000 potential users The Innov’Lab is a structure that was created by Thales to propose moder-nisation and innovation initiatives wit-hin the company. One of Innov’Lab’s Lagship projects is the development of an application for sharing knowledge and skills among employees, in the form of a Thales’ own community hub: CoachMe!
The purpose of the application is to of-fer Thales employees a social platform dedicated to the capture and search of professional and personal skills, and to allow meetings in the form of “coa-ching” between coaches, by making appointments through the application. The latter is intended to be used by the entire Thales group, i.e. up to 80,000 users worldwide.
agaptualité|n°24|septemberer2019
A Irst decisive version Before evolving, the application must be proven in the form of a “Proof of Concept” and must also measure theeffectiveness of the cloud technologies used for CoachMe! for possible use in other projects. CoachMe! has already been presented to various entities and departments of the group, which see it as a potential tool that must evolve. The quality of this îrst application is there-fore decisive.
Development from A to Z I work with Thales as a full-stack deve-loper of the application and supervisor of mobile development on the Android platform. I work as much on the An-droid front-end application part as on the implementation of the back-end application, proposing various techni-
cal modiîcations to improve the appli-cation initially designed.
CoachMe!, in addition to being a social application and digitalisation of trai-ning processes between collaborators, has the interest to diversify the different services to be offered, for example with the creation of a community manage-ment system, or a chat service between users.
Developing effective solutions on such a large-scale application is a challenge, and that is what personally motivates me in this project!

Training targets for the French Navy
CLIENT EXPERÉIDEINTCOE
With more than 1000 torpedoes produced in 10 years, Naval Group’s Underwater Weapons Business Unit is a major player in the design and manufacture of underwater weapons. Based in St-Tropez, the site has nearly 300 employees, more than 50% of whom are engineers. Christophe L., Head of the ANCM (Autoguidance, Navigation and Countermeasures) department at Naval Group, talks to us about the development of training targets to test torpedoes, on which Olivier, agap2 consultant, is working as a System Engineer.
What are the training targets designed by Naval Group for and for whom are they intended? C.L.: We offer our customers, the French and foreign Marines, training targets to familiarise themselves with the torpedo conîguration, without having to use a real submarine. For the torpedo to locate and attack its target, it must be acous-tically representative of a submarine. It is composed of a vehicle (or underwa-ter tractor) that travels underwater and equipped with an acoustic leash of se-veral tens of meters that represents a length equivalent to a submarine. This target is, in fact, itself developed on a torpedo base, with a diameter of about 50 cm and a length of about 5 metres. The notable difference between this tar-get and the torpedo is that the latter is equipped with a much higher self-gui-dance intelligence.
Expertise agap2
Olivier, System Engineer, integrated into the project since February, brings his experience to Naval Group on the guidance control section of the training target.
I provide solutions to all the electronic problems encountered in the section. I formalise everything to make the in-
agaptualité| n°24 | september 2019
What is the operating principle of the target? C.L. :The target is an underwater vehicle composed of multiple sections such as the sonar section, the electric motor, a rechargeable power source, a control surface actuator system and its propel-ler and înally a central guiding section. It is on this last section that Olivier inter-venes. This section is the target’s PLC. It includes the navigation function and the target’s safety features.
What skills are required to work in the Underwater Weapons Business Unit? C.L. :The torpedo is like a mini-auto-nomous submarine. Its design requires a set of skills: acoustic, electronic, elec-trical, etc. For this project, we needed a consultant who mastered electronics, the V-cycle of engineering, and who had
dustrial process viable and leave my successors written and easy-to-înd data.
This project involves touching on seve-ral trades. I do not only do system en-gineering, but I also do design to solve the electronic problems encountered, but integration, testing, validation, qualiîcation, and I am also sometimes asked on speciîc points for the other
skills in qualiîcation and complex sys-tem integration.
You recently integrated a second Consulting Engineer on the project. Why did you choose to trust agap2? C.L. :Indeed, for the past 2 months, a new agap2 consultant, Adrien, has been in charge of integrating and qualifying the sonar section of the same program. agap2 has met our expectations with a relevant skills île. The service is complex because it is both required to deîne a management plan for the activities to be produced in accordance with the sche-dule requested by Naval Group, but also it is essential to know how to adapt to the problems that may be encountered. This need has been well understood.
sections of the target. As the îrst agap2 consultant onsite, everything had to be proven, and this challenge is very motivating. I have a sense of accomplishment when Christophe L. trusts agap2 for a new mission and in-tegrates a new consultant on the site.

ANAIS: A Salesforce application to support the Accor group’s customer relations
The Accor Group, the world’s leading hotel operator and leader in Europe, owns, manages and franchises hotels, resorts and holiday homes around the world. In order to better meet the expectations of its B-to-B customers, Accor has developed and implemented the ANAIS (Accor New Application for Integrated Sales) tool. Sandrine G., Anais Project Manager and Charlotte L., Team Leader Anais Run, talks to us about this Salesforce application and its dedi-cated team, of which Sarah, agap2 consultant, is now a member.
What are the challenges involved in implementing a tool such as ANAIS for the Accor group?
S.G. : ANAIS is a technical solution used by Accor Group’s B-to-B sales re-presentatives. B-to-B now represents 50% of our hotels’ bookings. We, the-refore, use a tailor-made customer re-lationship management tool. This tool allows sales forces to negotiate and set up framework contracts with major tourism players. ANAIS brings together several applications (contracting, da-tabase, reporting, etc.) and makes it possible to gather in a single solution all the information and functionalities ne-cessary for sales teams: all the group’s data on its B-to-B customer accounts, their current and past contracts, as well as a follow-up of commercial proce-dures before, during and after the stay.
Expertise agap2
Sarah joined the ANAIS team as a Salesforce Developer to improve and maintain the smooth running of the tool within the Accor group.
As a Salesforce Developer at Accor, my mission is to ensure the proper management of the various Sales-force environments (deployment/
agaptualité|n°24 | september 2019
A team is entirely dedicated to the tool. What is its daily role?
C.L.The Run ANAIS team, including : Sarah, is composed of 6 people and car-ries out several missions. The îrst is to keep the solution in working order and provide support by answering various user questions. We are also responsible for the quality of the environments (pro-duction/pre-production/training/recipe/ development ) used by the teams. We also need to evolve the Salesforce tools of the ANAIS solution. For this, we are using an agile methodology.
S.G.: We needed Lexibility on our abi-lity to allocate resources to the project, which has the potential to evolve. Sa-rah joined the team about a month ago. agap2 was already an Accor partner and was able to be proactive by offe-
refresh) and to develop screens and processes in compliance with Accor’s own development standards, func-tional speciîcations and architectural constraints, while focusing on point & click developments. I analyse business needs and write technical speciîca-tions. Finally, I recommend solutions to promote standard developments and support the acceptance teams. What I înd interesting about Accor is
ring us a relevant proîle.
How does the implementation of the Agile methodology contribute to the success of the tool?
S.G. :From a MACRO perspective, by working in a capacity mode, we deîne a general allocation of Accor IT resources that is in line with ambitions. It is then up to each team to prioritise its subjects according to the allocated capacity.
C.L.: We’re more Lexible. Unlike a pro-ject for which we commit to a given time and scope, via agility, we can adapt our priorities and work 100% on the plat-form for a day if necessary, without “lo-sing” that day.
that the tasks are distributed among the different team members so that everyone is involved in the develop-ment, conîguration and support. This allows for the rapid exchange of knowledge and makes the work varied and challenging.

Mario overdid himself in the Iron Man Vitoria-Gasteiz race
As when they accept the technological challenges launched by our cus-tomers, our Agapiens are not afraid to launch challenges in their perso-nal lives! This is the case of Mario, consultant agap2 IT Portugal, who in 2014, after watching his îrst triathlon race, said to himself: “In a year’s time, I will be doing the same race in the same place.”
“My project is called EOS Project. It consists in making the Seven Summits, i.e. climbing the highest peaks of each continent in order to promote a Crowdfunding project for a humanitarian association in Colombia. In particular, I have engineering students working in design ofîces to solve pro-blems in Colombia, the country where I was born.
Camilo Test Engineer
I started this month with Elbrus, the highest summit in Rus-sia. The particularity of my project is that it will be done wi-thout a plane. The idea is to lead a real expedition in alpine style. To carry my own things. It’s a real challenge for me because I’ve only been climbing for two years. To physically prepare myself, every Friday evening, I pack my bag and go to the Alps for the weekend to go mountaineering, climbing
After a hard training, Mario was able to participate in several races. Last July, he started the famous IronMan Vitoria-Gasteiz long-distance race in Spain (3.8 km swimming/180 km cycling/42 km running). “I never stop training. For this race, I started in December with an average of 15 hours of training per week.” Although it was a long and difîcult day, thanks to his resilience and strong mentality, he crossed the înish line!
Since I arrived at agap2, I have been made to feel supported. There is a sense of community in the company. That’s why I thought about asking agap2 to support me in this project. Starting a project is always very scary. But don’t hesitate to talk to friends, colleagues, family … and try to make your dream come true.”
or ski mountaineering. It is thanks to all these weekends between 3000 m and more than 4000 m that I am acclima-tising to consider this challenge in Russia.
Since this summer, these cups no longer have their place in our Parisian agency. They have been replaced by glasses and mugs now available to employees and candidates in the reception areas!
Every second in France, 150 plastic cups end up in the garbage, and most of them are only used for a coffee.
Zero plastic cups for agap2 Paris!
Camilo at the peak with agap2!
IN SHORT...
The ethics … minute
Our actions can have an impact on the communities in which we operate. To do this, we must build an ethical and fair professional environment.
Two tools are at our disposal to help us: A Code of Conductsetting out the principles and standards by which we must act in order to adapt behaviour in line with our values. A professional alert systemallowing all employees to report in a conîdential manner any type of action or serious violation contrary to the legislation in force.
