 Forecasting The Technology Revolution: A Panel Presentation at the Annual Conference of the World Future Society, WorldFuture 2010 July 10, 2010 TECHCAST PANELISTS  Jim Kadtke, (Moderator) Information Technology Field Editor, Dr. James Kadtke received his PhD in theoretical physics from Brown University in 1987, including two years as a graduate fellow at Los Alamos National Lab, and then spent over ten years as a research faculty at the University of California at San Diego. He also served as the Chief Scientist at Nonlinear Solutions, Inc. and a consultant to the DoD and private industry on defense science. From 1999 to 2001 he was a Fellow at the Rand Science and Technology Policy Institute, supporting the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, and afterward spent a year as a Fellow on the Science Committee in the US House of Representatives. He then served over three years on the staff of Senator John Warner of Virginia, where he handled technology, defense, and homeland security issues. More recently, he has served as Executive Director of the Accelerating Innovation Foundation, and is currently an adjunct faculty and consultant in the Washington, DC area on technology and national security policy. He is also currently the information technology field editor for TechCast.   Ken Harris, Managing and Transportation Field Editor, embarked on a second career in futures research after retiring from government service in 1997. Since then he has founded his own futures consultancy, the Consilience Group, and served the World Future Society internationally as its Secretary and in the Washington, DC area as chapter president, treasurer and book discussion leader. He has served as Techcast's Managing and Transportation Field Editor since 2009 and specializes in studies of the future of sports and fitness as well as transportation and other emerging technologies. He holds a BA Cum Laude in government from Harvard University and an MPIA from the University of Pittsburgh .  Amy Oberg, Vice President, Techcast Services, Amy Oberg is a strategist and futurist who specializes in helping organizations better understand the emerging competitive environment and respond with effective, proactive strategies. She has held the position of Corporate Futurist for two Fortune 500 companies and now runs her own strategic advisory, Future-In-Sight LLC, serves as Vice President for TechCast Services, and is on the advisory board for Vodia Capital, a private investment firm. Amy holds a Masters degree in Studies of the Future; a Bachelors in Communications; and has completed the Program for Managers at Rice University’s Jones Graduate School of Management.  Dexter Snyder, E-Commerce, Field Editor, Dr. Dexter D. Snyder combines strengths in chemistry, materials science, and consulting with 35 years experience in automotive R&D and technology foresight.
