Thank you for taking on this very important issue. The proposed plan, of course, addresses many
concerns; however, the following additions would provide for a more robust plan and, given the
acceleration of global climate change effects that seems to be happening, are necessary:
• Numeric global warming reduction targets based on the most current, sound science
• Mandatory early action to reduce global warming pollution
Page 1 of 14 • Home-grown clean energy and energy efficiency solutions to address global warming in
Wisconsin
Thank you again for your good work and please add the above items to your recommendations.

We need stricter regulations and more enery efficient means of producing power in Wisconsin. Increased
use of windmills would be a good start. Increasing public transportation and campaigns to eliminate the
stigma of using public transportation would be another. (Many people look down on those of us who use
public transportation as not being socially equal to those who use their cars for one person to drive
around in all the time.)

DNR Global Warming Task Force:

I am a member of the Sierra Club, and I received an email containing the following information:

Your public comments are needed on the Global Warming Task Force (GWTF) Strawman
proposal that was released this week. This proposal does not go far enough, fast enough to
address the critical threat of global warming in Wisconsin. We need to make our voices heard
today to call for a stronger Global Warming Task Force proposal!

Sirs,

It is obvious to me that Global Warming is no a longer debatable issue. As
the number one creator of GW gases, the US has a responsibility to address
these issues aggressively, in my judgement. While the proposed Global
Warming Task Force Strawman proposal is a start, it does not go far enough,
quickly enough to do the job, I believe. Specifically, the Global Warming
Task Force proposal should contain:

Numeric global warming reduction targets based on the most current, sound
science Mandatory early action to reduce global warming pollution Home-grown
Page 2 of 14 clean energy and energy efficiency solutions to address global warming in
Wisconsin.

As my representatives, I urge you and expect for you to fight for a stronger
bill. My grandchildren's future depends on it!

Sincerely,
Rick Broniec

As a Wisconsin citizen, I wish to express my views on the importance of addressing global warming.
Although there is no way to be absolutely certain of the effects it will have on our climate, I believe we
must address this problem strongly because of the potential devastating effects it could have on those
who are to follow us on this planet.

I believe the best way to do this would be to set a low carbon fuel standard:
• A low carbon fuel standard will help ensure that we develop the best bio-fuels from a
global warming standpoint but also for our water quality.
• It would encourage the development and commercialization of hybrid electric
vehicles.
• It's one of the only ways to address the disproportionately high greenhouse gas
emissions from tars and oil.
• It is important to look at the life-cycle greenhouse gas emissions of fuels even if not
all of the reductions come in Wisconsin.
Page 3 of 14 Rather than having an adverse effect on the economy as some claim, I believe setting these
standards will actually strengthen the economy of our state, making us one of the leaders in
this field. It will also keep Wisconsin as a beautiful and healthy place to live.

Thank-you for the work you are doing on the important issue.
Sincerely,

Dear WI DNR:

I am proud of my homestate, to be trying to effect change to help the planet. But I think the
urgency of the situation requires mandates, not incentives or suggestions. While we're not trying
to put industry out of business, I think more must be done to require compliance that prevents
harmful emissions and pollution.

I) I read "plans for voluntary reductions" and I wonder why it is not mandated. When we have
lead warnings on our rivers, adding equipment to start emission reductions needs to happen
NOW.

II) The percent of renewable energy needs to be higher and sooner! And it should be mandated.
While we can't build the infrastructure in a day, we need to get it done asap.

While it's tempting to let industry build nasty power plants and nasty cars to make jobs, in the
end we have to look at the cost of health effects of those same industries. Who wants to work, if
you can't fish the streams and farm the land?

I must comment on the Global Warming Task Force (GWTF) Strawman proposal.

The global climate crisis must be addressed immediately. There were predictions 25 years ago indicating that if we
did not act immediately at that time, irreversible damage to the planet would occur. Virtually no action was
taken back then and very real damage has been done.

Page 4 of 14 While the models of a quarter of a century ago were quite inadequate and extrapolations from them led to some
predictions of global cooling and other ideas, the models have been refined and much new data have been collected.
We now see that warming is occurring, as is cooling in some areas of the globe. And some areas are much drier
while other areas are much wetter around the planet. The global climate has become much more unstable as humans
have heedlessly continued to soil our nest.

I have read the GWTF Strawman proposal and find it inadequate. Specifically, it must be expanded to contain:
1. Numeric pollution reduction targets based on the latest sound science models.
2. Mandatory pollution reduction actions in the immediate future.
3. Wisconsin-based clean energy programs and energy conservation/efficiency solutions to effectively address
global warming in Wisconsin.
4. A pollution reduction target of 80 percent.
Wisconsin must take immediate aggressive measures based on real science to reduce the effects of the global climate
crisis. We must act now to address the very real impacts of the crisis on the domestic and global economies, the
environment, and public health here and around the planet.
