Due to Eric's absence
last month, for Xerox-
related business on the
West-Coast, I had the
pleasure of presiding
over a couple of our
monthly events, notably
the Leadership
Committee and the
November Dinner
Meeting.
At the Leadership Committee, we are
continuing with the planning of future events
which will be of great value to our
membership, both short and longer term.
We
will be rolling out many initiatives and
programs over the coming months.
The
Annual Conference (April 6, 2006) and an
ASQRS Volunteer and Member Appreciation
Night at the Rochester Americans Hockey
(February 17, 2006) are just two we can all
put in our diaries.
The Dinner Meeting in November was
again very well attended. Janet Nelson, OQL
Consulting, gave us a wonderful talk on
Customer Loyalty and Retention.
Ms. Nelson
is a Six-Sigma Black Belt and is proficient
in Lean Manufacturing, and she uses and
advocates these methodologies with her
numerous client companies. She discussed
the most successful methods she and her
colleagues have employed to keep customers
coming back.
Also, with everybody these
days utilizing surveys to determine the Voice
of their Customer, she assisted us by listing
of numerous Do's and Don'ts in their creation.
This topic was very well received and there
were a lot of discussions during and after her
talk.
Many people gave examples of customer
service related experiences, both good and
bad, in personal and work situations.
I wish, on behalf of the ASQ Rochester
Section, all our valued members a happy and
festive Holiday Season.
See you all in 2006!
Dermot J. Healy
