Yes, it's been a great year for this continent, for A24 MEDIA and for Camerapix. 2012 has seenAfrica gain new leaders, entrepreneurs using technology in ingenious ways, and media outlets sharing more about Africa than ever before.

I have seen A24 MEDIA emerge as a premier production house for Pan African content, producing the weekly news magazine that my father started,Africa Journal. We have formed a partnership with CCTV NEWS, making 20 documentaries for their FACES OF AFRICA series. And we are busy creating content to satisfy our new partnerships which are blossoming all over Africa and the entire globe.

In this month's issue ofNew African MagazineI was honoured to be named as one of the100 Most Influential Africans. It was a surprise to me to be amongst such distinguished company, many who are friends of mine who I take great inspiration from. I promise you I will use this recognition to work harder.

We are not resting on our accomplishments in 2013. Camerapix will turn 50 in 2013 - let me repeat that: Camerapix will turn 50 years old in 2013!!!This is a remarkable achievement that really underlines my father's vision. Not many media companies, heck, not many companies of any kind on this Continent can boast of turning 50.

Besides ramping up our feature, documentary and program production in 2013, we will host the Kenyan General Election, look at launching a new awards program named after my Dad, and create a film looking at the five decades we have been in this media business.

I want to thank my partners and staff, without whom none of this would be possible, my friends and former colleagues, and all of you media and business professionals out there, who have given me your time, your ideas, your energy, your respect and, most importantly, your friendship and helped me achieve so much with so little.
