Calsoft Labs, an Adobe Scaling partner, will provide solutions from Adobe consisting of Adobe Flash Player 11 and Adobe AIR® for TV. These solutions accelerate Flash based video using the AMD X-Video Bitstream Acceleration (XvBA) API available for Linux. By leveraging the AMD UVD hardware [1]video decoder through XvBA, the solution reduces CPU usage by as much as 70 percent when compared to software only playback. The solution offers unprecedented stability on the system during playback of internet video sites such as YouTube Leanback while additional applications are operating. The Calsoft Labs solution is primarily targeted for use in digital home devices. The AMD Embedded G-Series APU is targeted towards a broad range of embedded systems including digital home applications such as set-top boxes and IPTV. The x86-based APU runs from 800MHz to 1.65GHz depending on the SKU and supports the AMD XvBA API for the H.
