/PRNewswire/ --
Narayana Group and Sri Chaitanya Group have come together today, for the
common good of education to form Narayana Sri Chaitanya IAS Academy
(NSC). The newly founded Academy will ensure that students are in a win-win
situation if they follow their unique module in letter and spirit.
Students who strive very hard after graduation in preparation for the Indian
Administrative Service (IAS) and civil services such as the Indian Police Service,
Indian Foreign Service, Indian Revenue Service, etc, end up spending huge
sums of money. Last year, more than 3.5 lakh students appeared for IAS Civil
Services examination for about 900 placements, so much is the competition
At an impressive launch ceremony of NSC IAS ACADEMY held at Le Meridien
Hotel in
New Delhi
on
July 2
, NSC Co-Founder Dr. B.S. Rao spelt out the
roadmap for success in IAS Civil Services by drawing lessons from his own
experience as a leading educationist for IIT and medical entrance
examinations. Dr. Rao. Founder and President of Sri Chaitanya IIT Academy
said, "By replicating our module for IITians, we can achieve tremendous results
in IAS Civil Services. Our mantra is 'Catch 'em Young'. We believe that if we lay
the foundation at an early age, we will have enough time of five years to build
the structure. It would be a strong edifice which would not wilt under any
pressure or stress."
The NSC IAS Academy plans to offer 12-hour, three-days a week foundation
courses to students starting from Class XI in subjects like general studies,
mental aptitude, general English, etc. The academy understands that the
student has to pay enough attention to regular studies in school, and hence will
not burden the students with any optional subjects.
"You need to have a stress free preparation and there are a lot of components
that go into preparation - mere dumping the syllabus on young students of
Class XI will not help. You need to sow the seed for preparation for civil services
at a very young age of 15 years or so and then the seed becomes a tree at the
age of 21-22," says Mohan Rao, CEO of the Narayana Sri Chaitanya IAS
Academy.
Both Narayana Group and Sri Chaitanya Group are leading educational
institutions specialized in the field of IIT-JEE, AIEEE and other engineering and
medical entrance examinations across the country for over 30 years and of
course fierce rivals in this highly competitive educational sector. But ironically,
both groups with their wisdom, deep respect and appreciation for each other,
have joined hands to launch the new joint venture, NSC IAS Academy in
New
Delhi
.
NSC IAS Academy is promoted by eminent people such as T.N. Seshan, former
Chief Election Commissioner, as Advisor, and K. Padmanabhaiah, former
Secretary of Home Affairs as the Dean. Many senior bureaucrats, CEOs, young
entrepreneur and serving senior officers are part of the visiting faculty.
Dr. Rao comments on the module of Catch 'em Young which imparts training
for IITians , and is a huge success. "For students who want to become IITians
we provide training from Class VIII onwards. Nearly 3,000 students out of
10,000 seats available in IITs in the country are either from the Narayana IIT
Academy or Sri Chaitanya IIT Academy, so much is the strike rate for our
institutions," says Dr. B.S. Rao. "These institutions are known to the public for a
long time - over 30 years - in the field of engineering and medicine. Lakhs of
students feel the stress in coping with studies in the competitive examinations
therefore it is difficult for students to balance. Training students after schooling
is difficult and stressful, but if you start early it is easy to overcome stress. We
will not, of course, train students of Class XI with IAS syllabus, but provide the
foundation for learning the basics of general studies, mental ability, and more
importantly the concept of the examination," adds Dr. Rao.
Taking a cue from Dr. Rao, CEO Mohan Rao said that the students of the
present generation have the required focus to realize their dreams. They just
need right training and guidance through their learning process
"We provide a single platform from laying the foundation to the IAS Civil
Services examination to the finishing line of getting into the service. Those who
start their preparation after graduation and make into Civil Services would do
after 2 or 3 attempts i.e., when they attain age of 25-26 . This means they
enter the service late and may not enjoy the complete benefits in service as
they might retire without attaining the senior positions," added Mohan Rao.
The young CEO has addressed the issues relating to back-up options for the
aspirants such as getting tier-2 or tier-3 officer level jobs, if they are unable to
successfully pass the IAS Civil Services. "There are hosts of jobs in Staff
Selection Commission, State Public Service Commissions, Railway Board, Bank
Officers, which are easy for a student of the caliber and training who studies in
NSC IAS Academy for five years. It is a win-win situation," said Mohan Rao.
NSC IAS Academy provides opportunities for all-round development of the
personality of a student. To get experience and proper exposure, NSC also
organizes field visits for students so they get first-hand knowledge and gain
experience, confidence and motivation to join the services. The NSC had
organized a visit to the Indian Police Academy in
Hyderabad
, last year, which
helped students to learn from the budding IPS officers.
The Academy offers training courses at three levels - Level-1 for Class XI-XII
students (Compulsory subjects such as General Studies, Mental Aptitude, etc),
Level-2 for Graduation Students (Compulsory and Optional subjects) and Level-
III (subject-wise training). The versatile and experienced faculty is available 27
x 7 to attend students queries and doubts. Narayana Sri Chaitanya is the only
institution which is offering such novel concept to Class XI and XII students from
imparting basic requirements to inculcating analytical thinking
