The company's traditions go back to the 1960s, when local Belarusian programmers were already experts in IBM mainframe architecture. In the 1980s, people from IBM came to Minsk, the Belarusian capital. At that time, the city was known as one of the largest IT centers in the USSR, supplying 60 percent of the country's demand for computer production. As a result, the International Business Alliance (IBA) was formed in 1993. However, IBM later withdrew as a part owner of IBA in line with its strategy and IBA went on operating independently. In 1999, IBA Group founded IBA CZ in Prague and extended it to Brno in 2005. The same year, following the admission of the Czech Republic to the European Union, the company relocated its headquarters to Prague. Eventually, the small firm evolved into the international IBA Group of more than 2,500 employees and offices in 11 countries.

The Prague celebration was held on October 17. More than 100 guests from different countries gathered at Klub Lavka to congratulate IBA Group on their 20^th birthday.
