JMJ Hosts Inaugural Korea Incident and Injury-
Free® (IIF®) Success Day
PR Newswire
AUSTIN, Texas, August 8, 2012
AUSTIN, Texas
,

/PRNewswire/ --
The JMJ Korea Team hosted the first ever one-day Korea IIF Success Day (KIS
Day) to recognize the successful results of their clients' implementation of the
IIF safety program. The purpose of the day was to share successes, lessons
learned and best practices with current and future leaders of the IIF approach
throughout Korea.
Currently, there are approximately 80,000 workers in Korea who are working
with the IIF approach, which has been used in Korea for the past 8 years. In the
early days of IIF work in Korea, multinational oil companies were utilizing the
approach to develop stronger safety leadership and foster cultures that
improved safety performance. Currently, Korean owned major industries such
as shipbuilding and major oil refinery upgrade construction projects are now
embracing the IIF approach as their own. As a result, breakthroughs leading to
previously unheard of safety results have occurred throughout these industries.
The IIF Success Day was an opportunity to celebrate these results and to
acknowledge the growth that the IIF program has experienced in the country.
The fifty participants included representatives from CLOV, GS Caltex, DSO,
Hyundai Construction, Samsung Construction, Doosan, DNV, Shinsegi Marine,
HHI Offshore Engineering and Fabrication, HHI Shipbuilding, DaeWoo E&C, STX,
SHI and Chevron. Presentations delivered by DSME and GS Caltex explored the
growth of the IIF approach at their companies, and their intentions for
continued success of the program.
Overall, the event was a chance for JMJ and its clients to highlight the personal
impacts that the IIF approach has had on the lives and relationships of the
people with whom they work. It was also a chance to continue to forge new
relationships based on a shared commitment to safety and wellbeing.
"We deeply enhanced relationship with our clients, with our potential clients and
among the JMJ team," said JMJ lead consultant Michael Huvane. "One person
told me his experience of the day could be summed up with one word: love."
