New Frugally Delicious Cookbook serves up
recipes to help consumers munch their way
through the credit crunch

/PRNewswire/ --
The Frugally Delicious Cookbook launched in partnership with 55 food bloggers
and sponsored by ClearDebt to help consumers battle the pressure of rising
food costs.
Frugally Delicious isn't a fancy 'coffee-table' cookbook. It's a frugally themed
book, created by real food bloggers and chefs for people who want to make
great food that which won't break the bank. The book features a range of
recipes from light bites and snacks, soups and salads all the way to hearty main
meals and desserts.
Families in the UK have been battling with high inflation and sluggish wage
growth. The average household in the UK spends 11% of its weekly expenditure
on food. The price of food in May was up 4.3% on 2011 levels - the same rate
of increase as recorded in April. Compared to the rest of the EU food and non-
alcoholic drink prices have risen by considerably more in the UK since
June
2007
; three times as much as
France
and 2.7 times as much as in
Germany
.
The book is a budget-friendly £3.30 /
$5.29
excluding postage and packing.

Andrew Smith at ClearDebt said, "Too often cookbooks require lots of new
ingredients and often use items that are expensive, making great cooking on a
budget very difficult. The rising cost of food is a real concern for the vast
majority of UK households, we wanted to create a book that was full of recipes
that anyone can make that don't cost a fortune to help consumers deal with the
pressure of rising food costs." "The excitement of each blogger at seeing their
recipe and blog published in the cookbook has been an unexpected bonus. It is
a great feeling to have helped get their talents recognised."
