/PRNewswire/ --
- According to a new Swedish Study, Elderly People can Reduce Their risk of
Dying of Heart Disease by Over 50% by Taking Two Natural Supplements
How would you like to reduce your risk of dying of cardiovascular disease by
half? According to researchers from Linköping University and Karolinska
University Hospital, combining the mineral selenium with a vitamin-like
compound called coenzyme Q10 will do the job. In their study of 443 Swedish
men and women aged 70-88 years, the researchers observed how those who
took this combination had less than half the cardiovascular deaths as those who
took identical placebo pills. This was a 5-year prospective, randomized, double-
blind placebo-controlled study.
Better heart function
In addition to halving cardiovascular mortality, the patented Pharma Nord Q10
and selenium supplements improved heart function substantially. Volunteers
taking the supplements had lower levels of NT-proBNP. An elevated level of this
substance is normally a sign that the heart is working under pressure.
Secondly, the scientists observed, using echocardiography, that the hearts of
those in the treatment group functioned significantly better than in the placebo
group.
Subjects took 2x100mg Bio-Quinone Q10 Gold capsules and 200mcg
SelenoPrecise daily.

Selenium
Europeans get less selenium through diet than populations in other parts of the
world. It's vital for health, supporting a variety of functions such as fertility,
immune function, cell defence, and fighting inflammation. Studies have shown
a link between low selenium levels and increased heart disease risk.
SelenoPrecise is currently the most widely used selenium source for research
because of its documented quality and safety.
Coenzyme Q10
Coenzyme Q10 is a vitamin-like compound found in the diet, but also produced
endogenously by the liver. All cells require it for energy. 95% of the body's
energy is made using Q10.
Q10 levels decrease with age. Also, reduced Q10 levels have been observed in
heart muscle tissue of chronic heart failure patients.
Bio-Quinone Q10 is the official reference product of the International
Coenzyme Q10 Association (ICQA) and a special version of Bio-Quinone Q10 is
registered in several EU countries as a medical drug for treating chronic heart
failure.
