LONDON,August 10, 2012/PRNewswire/ --The Olympic committee ofPeru, along with the town hall of Miraflores and in partnership with Promperu and the Peruvian Embassy inLondonhave launched the celebrations for the International Olympic Committee World Conference "Sports For All". The conference, which will take place between the 24th and 27th of April inLimanext year, aims to promote sport and to encourage people to lead healthy and active lifestyles. Taking place inLondon'sfamous County Hall in front of the Houses of Parliament, Big Ben, and the Thames River,Londonserved as a brilliant backdrop to an event that celebratedLimaand the arrival of the Conference in Peru. There were over 100 guests, including Olympic representatives such as Joël Bouzou, (President of the World Olympic Association), Tsunekazu Takeda (President of the Japanese Olympic Committee), and Sam Ramsamy (President of the Sports For All committee). The event was hosted by Jose Quiñones, President of the Peruvian Olympic Committee, along with Julio Muñoz, the Peruvian Ambassador inLondon. Alongside with Jorge Muñoz (Mayor of Miraflores) and Ivan Dibos (member of the international Olympic committee. The main speech was given by Jose Quiñones and then by Sam Ramsamy, who said '"Sport for All" aims at bringing spiritual and material benefits for everyone, and will do so forLimaand Miraflores in particular.' The Mayor of Miraflores then encouraged people to attend the conference, saying that in Miraflores 'we are all in love with the culture of healthiness, and will be waiting for you next year.' When asked what "Sports For All" meant forLima, Jose Quiñones said that 'Limawill be in the eye of the sporting world during four days, exposing the subject of sport in our society to the maximum level possible, hence encouraging sport not only inPeruitself but throughout the world.'
