Description
This chronicle which is the result of a team work, gathers analysis of a dozen of researchers about the way archeologists look at the signs of Romanization in Southern Gaul. Here the aim is less to question the process itself in its different aspects, cultural, political. . . and so on, than to search, within the information available today, and more widely in the works done over the last ten years, what are the sources given to the historian by archeology. From the occupation of the soil to the funerary rites, the authors have taken for example their specific way to point out the state of the acquired knowledge, the limits of the documentation, and the problematics underway.
