DearReaders, December is already here and with it so are all the festivities. The period leading to Christmas has been pretty busy here at the AFMM. In this edition of ourGazette you may have a peep at the recent activities with many colourful photos of guests. Among the lectures our members and friends were able to attend this last month were one by Professor Frasca, another by renowned French author Charles Dantzig. On a lighter note is the current photo exhibition at St James Cavalier “Rock Dreams”.

November brings with it the French tradition of the launch of the young red wine the “Beaujolais Nouveau”. This year this activity was held here at our premises in Floriana. Kevin Raymond, our French intern, presented the tradition of the Beaujolais to all present. Wine and food followed. All were delighted with ambiance set by the two accordeonists that hel ped contribute to the French environment. Now just have a look to see if you were caught by one of our photographers. November and the beginning of December also saw the DELF DALF international diplomas being held. This year we had a record 96 candidates for the Junior version of the exam.

Young students of French in Maltese schools are beginningto understand the importance of getting international certification and are grasping the opportunity we offer them here at the AFMM. The results will be out in mid January. I am sure that all students have done their best and that their efforts will be rewarded.
